Were heading over to TeAwamutu for some christmas stuff when Olivias bike had had enough of the old chain and decided to spit it out the back of the bike... Good ol Turtle lived just up the road so he came to rescue with a trailer for the bike, rummaged around in one his sheds and found a brand new chain that was the same as Olivias and put that on and we were off again.... Big ups to you Dave....you're a legend mate esp at 8pm on Christmas eve![]()
Went up to Coroglen yesterday with Turtle and daughter, Spud and Yvonne, Olivia and I....seen a few bikes but a hell of a lot more traffic, had a few there and then was back to Spuds "bar and grill" LOL for some more refreshments and a bloody good feed
Giddy up![]()

What a great day started at 6.30am (on time this time) aye Glen, gate pa servo coffee in hand with Jimbo sorting out his planned route, then a couple of Jimbos mates arrived ( good buggers ) one on a RSV R the other on a Yama TRX 850 forgot their names they prolly told me 10 times but I didn't hear them, anyway olfaithful bb2 cruzes on in gases up, bit of natter , then off we go destination Wanganui, Zapped through Pyes Pa to Rotorua picked up another one of Jimbos mates on a mint Duke, and another mate some where near Taupo (no pun intended ) who had a nice 916 Duke, once he joined in, the pace went up a couple of notches with Jimbo hot on his heels, I hooked in behind the RSV and sat there most of the way.
Stopped at a pub about 14ks out side of Wanganui for a half hr or so then continued on, finally arriving around mid day.
Off with the gear, ticket programe, cruzed on in, then all of a sudden one of guys in our group said a couple of his mates worked for Hooker transport which had a trailor set up at their yard next to the railway crossing S bend, so guess where we all ended up, we ran into Eman and Tarsh and managed to squeaze them in as we were heading into Hookers yard, saw 2 Much about an hr later on the other side of the road, Quick note: he dosn't respond to Mark, yell out 2 Much and he will respond straight away, (classic) caught up with him later as we did our circuit
Big ups for the lads at Hookers not only did they give us a primo spot , seat, toilets, some where to put our gear, they gave us free access to there beer fridge and a BBQ, we offered them cash for their hospitality but they wouldn't accept it, we couldn't have got it any better, CHEERS HOOKER BRO'S.
Managed to catch up with Kelly in the pits busy girl she was doing the yards for sugarlite, well done mate, proves ya don,t have to pose and hang an umbrella over your head to look good in the pits.
About 2 races to go we decided to do a circuit of the track on our feet of course we thanked the Hooker dudes and continued on around the track, we were almost at the end of our circuit when a young fellow full of dutch courage or P, (on crutches an all) decides to start abusing the cops on the other side of track, when the cops finally got to him he had really got his wild up, they had to pepper spray him, thats when his mates joined in the rest is history, as we were leaving police reinforcments were arriving.
The trip home was pretty routine apart from bb2 passing the lead bike Duke 916 on the desert road claiming to have the trusty radar then all of a sudden this cop just popped up from no where plenty of practice I reckon, I had 135ks on the clock, we were lucky, we got the red and blue light flashing/ finger point treatment could have been worse , stopped at Te Hoi pub had a beer said our good byes before we all split up, home 11.00Pm.
What a day yehhaa, Cheers to Jimbo
