Just thought I might as well shoot out for a little blat over the hill just to get back into the mix of things after not riding for a week or so.

So I warmed up the bike and headed up there, good weather, a little chilly though, but nevertheless better than what we've currently been having.

Got to the top and remembered that Unit mentioned a diesel spill on the steep side, so I took my time on the way down and only went a tiny bit quicker on the way up, thought I might as well scope things out. All clear, could see where the spill had been though, just near the top before the last set of really tight corners. Great.

Shot back down at a medium place to just let the tyres warm up a bit before the fun started. Then the holiday traffic arrived. Feck!!! Didnt matter though because on the way up the majority of people were kind enough to get out of my way. On the way down however, people obviously didnt realise that the slow vehicle lanes aren't just for the trucks, sheesh.

Anywho, on the way back up I noticed a black R6 had pulled over (he had a pillion) and let his mrs on the back off, probably to let her stretch or something, wrong lol. He left her there for about 10 minutes while he shot up and down a few times. Each time I went passed Id notice her standing there looking bored as hell, couldnt help but laugh... priorities eh?

To the rider of the maroon harley davidson, sorry if I pissed you off when I overtook you on the way down but it wasnt like you were going any quicker than the rest of the traffic, and it looked like your pegs were going to dig into the road if you leaned over any further than 10 degrees. Therefore there was no reason to act like a smartass shithead and blow past me that close while I was taking over another car. Just immature. I know you may feel like shit because you were overtaken by a 250 but having to make yourself feel better by riding dangerously isnt cool.

So I kept shooting up and down for a while, just focussing on smooth transitions from one side of the bike to the other, taking off the damn chicken strips that were still there....

Ended up spending a good hour and a half up there, and chopping down the strips to the point where I was quite happy so headed home.

Good to see quite a few other bikes out there.

    -Mike.

PS. anyone keen for a blat on Sunday? (would have to be back by 3pm, but could still make good use of the time ive got)

Ever seen lord of the rings?
Was driving back to Auckland after working out of our Tauranga office for the day. Saw you and R6 Guy up the Kaimas and then going back down. Looked like fun! Laughed when I saw R6 Dude's girl standing on the side of the road waiting for him to do his up and down thing.

Had lunch at Drivers. Was nice to eat my steak sandwich with DMNTDs boots in full view.

    Date amendment........

......... sorry, it has just been pointed out to me that I have a glitch in my events calendar
We will be at the Tauranga gunclub on the 27th Oct making earplugs, then at Frostys in Taupo on Sunday 28th.
Taupo gunclub this weekend, if anyone wants to make a ride (especially if the weather has spruced up enough).
Sorry for any inconvenience, Sue 027 659 1583

I went out in the am to the Kaimai's also, Been hanging out for a fix since the Coro loop the other weekend,
Must say I needed a ride to vent some steam and those tyres handle aggression well traffic?

Once your past Waihi it's pretty settled, if your thinking of heading that way. Just come from Waiuku through Kopu-Whangamata-Home this morning, was an awesome run, absoltely no traffic through there to hold you up.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

I just went for a blat also, the winds only bad around Tauranga.

I went to rotorua for lunch and then back over the kaimais via the okororie route.

Least traffic ive seen up there in a while actually. (we at least on the way up)

Also managed to give a boy racer in his modified wrx the learn up there, was bloody close though, and he wasnt taking his time, Im still stoked though...

I love doing that too! I tend to sit beside them for a sec, let them see I'm a GIRL and then gas it I've had a couple drive like retards because they didn't want a bike to pass them. Like they've got a shitshow against the mighty RSV...

Nice one, then again, doing it on an RSV isnt very hard is it?

I was up near redline most of the time leaning further than i ever had going nuts, and still only just managed to beat this dude.

And he was cutting the centre line and using 2 lanes in places.

I have to admit that i had a huge grin when i took him on the outside, leaning enough, and being so close to his car that i probably could have stuck out my head a bit further and had a chat to him.

    Taupo Sunday

Lucky you didn't continue on down to Taupo, it was blowing the howlers like nothing down there. Made the targets at the gunclub real interesting to shoot. Lol

    Got A Job

Sad but true. As this is week five I was just starting to get the hang of being on KB most the day, and life is so busy how am I going to fit work in?
Anyway, start my new job next week, yet to see contract but should do this afternoon. At least will cover this summers motorcycling costs (no new bikes included )
