TERGO STRIP is the best stripperget it from bunnings saves alot of sanding

Yea i used that stuff, went through a bottle of it. It got most of it off but there was still some bloody tough bits of paint not wanting to move. Then i needed to sand like hell ( used electric sander ) because the spoke parts are not smooth alloy, the paint on top was smooth but it was all bumpy and shit under it so i had to smooth it all down as much as i could so i could polish it.

i got sick of polishing so i thought id leave the rim how it was and clearcoat it and slap my old tyre on it. Here it is. Complete... for now.

start another thread on it chief.

to convert it to running avgas all you would have to do is pour avgas in the tank. It would make next to no difference. Methanol tho, i have no idea.
