I'll probably be shot down for interrupting the dialogue here but seeing as this is the "Tauranga" meeting place, I'll go anyway...

I need a new front tyre, WOF is due and the road was a bit slippery today, it gave me the shits on one occasion.

Any suggestions who to go to? It's 100/90-19. Ideally I will take the wheel off and drop it in for someone to change while I'm at work.

    Cheers!

I have always found the lady at GP Honda to be very helpful and gives you the best price she can. I will defently be going there next time i need a new tyre. She is very good with that computer, always looking for the price on bits and pieces for me. But in saying that, if you are just buying one tyre, you will probably be paying a very simular price for the tyre where ever you go.

See what DMNTDs opinion is, as legend has it he is the man to speak to when wanting a "phat" deal on tyres.

GP have been good to deal with so far, they replaced my stator, so I'll ask them for a price on a tyre.

    .... waiting DMNTD now

Brian at Smiths on Durham St will set you right. Good selection and good prices which will compare where ever you go.

Worth ringing round the bike shops and see who will give you the best price,
sometimes it depends on which brand and type of tire your after for the type
    of riding you do.

    Strada get mine now.
They're pretty good at getting random sizes.

Good suggestions all, I'll call Smiths and GP tomorrow and see what they have to offer. I'm a nana rider, none of this peg scraping business, the CX wouldn't have any idea what a stoppie was or even what it feels like to be on only one wheel, front or back ... not that it is capable of doing any of that lol.

Personally Smiths usual have some of best prices on tires, and other accessiours, (espically if you are on a budget), Brian in the shop can act like an cunt, but he is a good guy, and his head is full of alot of knowledge.

I just dont like it how i went in there to get my bike checked out because my battery wasnt charging. When i went to pick it up i paid, turned the bike on, rode up the road 100meters and then petrol started pissing all over the engine. They "forgot" to hock up the petrol lines. Kinda put me off that place

It is capable of doing that... and Smiths is hard to beat on price (unless you go to Hamilton) a good tip is to drop it off early and tell them you'll be back at lunch time... that way when you finish work they'll have it ready for you.

    Points to note:
Tyres - Smiths, but always ring around
Helpful service and info - Karen?!? (BJ's missus) at GB Honda shes on our side
Mechanic - Eric (works from home, where ever the fuck that is) Karen?!? can help you find him.

I'll give you $50 for your bike...
