    Manfield Bucket event Write up....

25th Feb Bucket racing @ Manfeild

Well what a day eh??? This was the fastest track that I have ever been on in my racing buckets……… and it showed at the beginning,

    Practice:

Man I was soooo nervous about going out on this big bad track with all the big bad other riders.
I started off really really slowly just learning the corners and where to turn Etc. The biggest thing I noticed on the big track is where you brake. At the normal tracks the turn in is soo short that you have to brake before the turn in. At Manfeild it’s a different story. I actually was using very little brakes but instead scrubbing off speed by just pulling the bike into the corner. Which seemed to work well
The only corner that I couldn’t get right was the only Right hander. It had a big repair mark through the middle that would upset the bike if I was on power going over it. The only way I could go over it smoothly was trying to make the weight on the front and rear as equal as possible. That seemed to work ok, but I was still by far down on the pace of everyone else out there on that corner. Never mind

    Race one:

    MAN WAS I AMPPED!!

Well kinda. I was still a little nervous but it was gonna be fun.
I was the first to finish the warm up lap (which felt like a race to the Grid) so was up the front.
Down comes the flag. Were all away, I’m so focused on just trying to ride that I didn’t realise that I was in first place for half the race until I realised no one had passed me. Sweet ill keep this going. Then F5 Dave came along and really wanted to get past me. But I wasn’t gonna just give to him, and neither was he. He passed me on the entrance to the corners (lighter bike, easier to slow down OK ) But my mighty Four stroke power had the pull out of the corners to slip stream him on the straights. This battle went on for the last half of the race until the last corner, Where I was in front getting all excited about winning then Scott Davis fucken flew past both of us on the sweeper were me and Dave were tapped out. Damn only second. But it’s the best place I have ever come. So I’m not complaining. (cheers Dave for the mint race, I loved it )

    Race two.

Once again I was up the front and ampped to go. Down with the flag and off we go. Another mint start but I stuffed up turn one and Dave got past me on the next corner. Still going hard, onto the back straight and HOLY CRAP WHAT WAS THAT??
Sure enough it was speedpro MOTORING IT big time. Man that bike really does grunt. Ok so still in third. Keep going. This race was kinda boring as I was alone the rest of the race. Sweet as third place I’m still stoked.

    Race three,

A repeat of race one nothing fancy except a front wheel slid on the right hander. That was fun

    To Conclude:

    Thanks to:

    -Bayden for getting me there,
-The ‘bush riders club’ for putting on this event
-And to the rest of the crew for the bench racing after being on the track

    I’m out

    -RG100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good write up. Sounds like we missed a great event. We were going but out of the blue hXc had a band gig which menat that we couldn't be there.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
