RG150 transmission oil - what to use?

Hi, about to change my RG's transmission oil, and wondering what people are using. The service manual says to use "good 20W40 oil", but seeing as standard gear oil is around 75W90, and the manuals transcribed by a little Thai fellow, I'm a bit hesitant.

Does everyone use standard motor oil for transmission oil in RG's? How about other similar 2-stroke engines? (RG125, RG250, etc)

    Cheers for any insight...

Bit different to standard gear oil. Chuck in a good mineral 4 stroke motorcycle engine oil. That's all I ever did on me two strokes.

20W 40 is right... 75W90 is for 4 strokes and the like.... stick to the manual and use it, no worries........

Ive used it and 4litres lasts for like 12000kms (change your oil every 3000kms)

I always use ATF on 2 strokes - autos use multi plate clutches, just the right thing for a bike clutch.Plenty of car manual boxes use ATF,should stand up to a 150cc I think.
