    Harley gear and clothing.

Even before i had the Buell i bought Harley motorclothes and sundries.
Nicely made, well designed, made-for-motorcycling, great looking and, I think, great value kit.

Forget the doggie bandannas and bathrobes and all that shite - the clothing, leatherwear and stuff for keeping bikes and kit in good nick is top notch.

You don't have to have H-D in letters 4" high on everything - some of it is quite understated - the stuff I buy is anyway.

Today i purchased some Johnny Reb riding boots branded as H-D. At $245 they were more than $100 cheaper than the Johnny rebs.
As comfortable a shoe as i've ever put on and with a sturdier rubber sole than any other I've owned too. You have to look closely to spot the logos.

You don't have to have a hog to wear the gear, it's just nice stuff to wear on anything.

I'll treat them up with the H-D waterproofer and leather dressing because they are also some of the best products I've used for the job too.

Check out the Harley stuff when you are doing the rounds - some of it is way cool. Lou has got some really nice gear in at AMPS now.

(did I buy them because i was doing the KR XB12X photo shoot this afternoon? You betcha! - can't have shabby boots for that can we!)

I have worn for the last 2 years the same pair of harley boots as bike boots and everyday shoes... still going although the soles are now not warrentable anymore lol... bloody comfy as anything and really take a hammering. Hoping for a new pair soon

But I'll never buy a harley bike....

Totally agree. Harley gear is really well made and wears well. I still have shirts and sweats that I bought with my first HD 14 yrs ago. Their boots are very hard-wearing and I am absolutely digging my latest pair that I ordered from AMPs catalogue. I'm with you Dave on the more 'understated' look. I don't like the flash gear that absolutely screams HARLEY! I've got some nice gear that just has a wee little 'bar n shield' on it and maybe if you look really closely you might notice that the metal buttons have Harley Davidson engraved in them... nice.
Buell also has some nice gear but we don't get a huge range in the shops over here. I have seen some American Catalogues and they have a huge array of clothes and accessories... sigh...wish...

Harley have just released the best multi-season bike jacket I've seen.
It's Cordura, with zip off panels. So you can you can use it as a mesh jacket for hot days, a vented jacket for not so hot days and with the renovable waterproof jacket/liner in, it'll handle quite cold days as well.
There's CE armour inside. Only $462.00
I'd buy one, except for the 50mm high Harley D logos front and rear. It might not look right on the Bandit.

You could always sew a "Sucks" badge next to the HD logo *joking*

probably - but these days design and specification and after sales are more important than origin - unless it's locally made of course.

Don't buy too many H-D bit'n'bobs but the stuff I DO buy is A1, it fits, the finish is tops and it's durable
I can see why the price is according, it's like buying a Purdey - you pay a big dollar but you know what you're getting is worth it and the quality uncompromised..

I have a HD branded lightweight leather jacket that is well over 10 years old. I use it for my around town/commuting riding, so it gets pulled on/off, buckled/zipped up/down two or three times a day - virtually every day. It has been tremendous - no problems whatsoever with zips, lining, stitching, anything). But........ it has a made in USA tag on it!

Quite - I got over the Made in China syndrome a long time ago,I see a hell of a lot of stuff come through my shop that's made in China - it's all made to OE specs,it's just the price that's different.

That would be the desired affect, rather than a gang of harleys approaching you with chains...
