Only 100 bucks as the starting bid?
Thats sad mate...![]()
But whats gotta be has gotta be done.
How much are you wanting for it?
I've got the reserve set at $1000. It's hard to know what it's worth, hence the auction rather than a classified listing.Originally Posted by Joni
Yep, it's sad but it has to go.
I've had a few guys phone up and make offers for the Zeal, asking me to skip the auction and just sell it to them.
First dude offered $800 on sunday, said he needed a bike urgently. The next guy was more realistic, offered $1500. But I want to see the auction through and they both accepted that.
Just this evening someone phoned up asking about the bike, asked how much I wanted for it so I said the reserve was $1000 which he then wanted to buy it for. When I said I wanted to see the auction through and he'd have to bid if he wanted it, he said he couldn't sign up to trademe because he didn't have a credit card. I tried to explain you don't need one to sign up, I think he understood. But then he started offering more, $3000, $4000, $4500...
He said it was for his uncle, that he liked the bike. They were in Wellington and a cousin up here in auckland would come pick it up.
I still said no, they'd have to win the auction.
So he asked what if they offered $17000!!!
I said I'd think they were pulling my leg and that I still wanted to see the auction through.
What confuses me is how someone that is unable to sign up to trademe and doesn't have credit cards, is able to offer such high prices for an old Zeal?
one of my 13 yo twins likes your bike but he has to wait because he is too young and has no $$$$$:slap: :slap:
Sold!
For more than I expected too.
I hope the new owners are happy with it.
Well done, that former Zeal owner. Welcome to the Club.
