But if you do, noone at work will be able to solve the problem either, as few people know what it takes to work a Mac properly. I've got nothing against them, they're great machines and the operating system beats Windows all hollow. But if only they were easier for the average joe to operate and compatability was less of an issue...

Happily we don't sell Macs where I am, and that suits me just fine. Renaissance being the only supplier of Mac product charges through the nose for them, and most stores who sell Mac product have bugger all profit margin, so the incentive to push Mac just isn't there for salespeople and businesses alike. Profit margin in iPods? For Apple, sure thing. For us? Bugger all, in most cases less than 5% when the store benchmark is 22%. I'll give a damn when you pay me to...

Kidding. But anyone can operate a recently purchased Windows machine. And since almost everything's made for Windows, software's plentiful. But then, so are viruses...

    make a mac run properly?!?!
may be they're just unrealistically simple and easy, and Windows users are just expecting it to be hard..??

Renaissance do charge a small fortune, but then so do Apple. quality I guess

well, I guess it's just horses for courses. I love Apple stuff, can't stand M$ for anything. Never have, doubt I ever will.

But I'm glad Apple isn't a 'big' contender for Windows, cos then there's be more target on viruses etc. There isn't much you can't do on a mac over windows either tho.. apart from the Power Commander software..
