Still raining here, although conditions have improved in the last hour.
Weather at Waipara is 16kph SW wind, light rain, 10.6 deg.
You've got a nice warm & comfy van to ride in. I'll keep an eye on the weather, if it improves sufficiently I'll head off later. If I don't get there, have a good day.

I thought this may happen so went out for a play at the Waimak yesterday to make sure I got my fix for the weekend. Bumped into Lemans, SDU & Green Meanie out there too. Had a good ride, so not too upset if I don't make it out today.
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!

So i had a good time. I think i heard someone saying there was about 130 riders over the day.
The grass was a little greasy to start with but was a lot better on my second lap. I stayed off the enduro deviations so my day was fairly relaxing.
Here, I give you some photos of the track and scenery.
There was no rain, just some cloud. Heck, the sun even came out for a while, see the blue patches of sky in the first photo.
1-Me and my toys in the carpark.
2-The first hill of the track.
3-Somes guys on an easy rolling part.
4-Nice view as the track leads down to where eveer. Careful of slippery while damp grass on the first lap.
5-Glad to have hand guards as had to push our way through further in here when the green stuff closed in trying to snag our bikes. Just go faster, it wasn't all that bad, some wouldn't even have noticed it.
6-Another great view. Track goes straight ahead.

    And some more...
1-After being in the clear for a while we circled round and a 90degree turn took us straight up a steepish path cut in the bush. Looked worse than it was, plenty of traction available.
2-My bike and a red arrow leading into the trees ahead.
3-I hate riding along slopes, rather go up or down them.
4-Mind out for red paint like on that overhanging branch ahead.
5-some guys letting it rip up another hill.
6-Just some rider on a KTM with a view of the plains behind.

    Last ones...
    1-I love this stuff.
2-I passed the exit of one of the enduro deviations and saw these guys having some problems. It's actually quite a steep drop.
3-Love the views, I guess the pink rocks could make a mess if you hit them hard enough.
4-Lot's a hill and trees and a rider on his way down the track.
5-The best view on the course IMO. I should have taken another two photos either side to put it all together but it still wouldn't do the view justice.
As you can tell, I go for the views as much as the ride.
6-Looking over the vineyards almost back at the carpark.
