do you HAVE to stay in that Company?

    I'd bail if negotiations failed...

life's too short bro, and it starts affecting home-life and mates-life, as you're finding out

have a word and give them a deadline to get back to you by

    hope it works out dude!

I'll give one good reason why I can't just up and leave.......... I may have Bursary in English, maths and Agriculture, but all my PC knowledge is self taught. If I had to leave, I would be going to a deadbeat job that has a high possibility of paying less.

No one employs self taught people anymore.

I did in my old job - mostly cause thats what I am. Experience gained on the job is far more relevant that something you read in a book. We had people apply for technicians roles with qualifications out their ears who had trouble finding the fking power switch.

Give me hands on experience and bench time any day over some muppet fresh out of college who doesnt know his ar$ehole from his elbow.

Get them to sponsor your study then. You'll get time out and a bit of paper to support your knowledge. Some papers even have acknowledgement of prior learning - stuff you learned at work.

    Feel better now?
Try some alcohol therapy followed by a sickie. Or go for a good long fang. (Preferably throw a sickie for this one too.)

even if you can't mate, its nice to sit down for 2 minutes, clear your head and day dream about the above events.

Postie has it right, but swap the Vodka for Scotch

Understand ya Sniper. Whilst managing the day to day running of this business I also have the advertising to take care of on Monday and Tuesday. I have systems in place to ensure that it doesn't overflow to Wednesday, my day off. Now the owner of the company likes to stick his oar in from time to time and generally fucks things up. Not really his fault, but it doesn't work in with my system so yesterday I waited at home untill 2:30pm waiting for everything to be sorted (I can't delegate this work). Came into work today, he turned up about 10:30 and I told him in no uncertain terms that I will not accept any changes to the advertising after 10:00am Tuesday, final. He had no choice but to accept. One battle won. Now onto the next 156875.

Document how many times the phone rings in the middle of the night and how much sleep you're actually getting.

Get out your contract and call the Department of Labour on 0800 20 90 20 for advice. It's free, you don't have to tell them who you are or give any specifics and they're really friendly and helpful.

Ask them what your rights are and what the best scary words are to use when you talk to your boss.

Ask what kinda grievance you'd be entitled to claim if the stress, lack of sleep and interruption to your personal life causes clinical depression!

Stress in the workplace is a big issue right now and your boss should know better!

Also with that little sleep for over two weeks straight you're putting yourself in danger every time you go driving or riding If work wants you to put in those hours they should be cabbing you.

In the meantime though, make sure you drink heaps of water and try to get some exercise or go for a walk or stretch cause that will help make the sleep that you do manage to get deeper and more restful.

A friend of mine keeps an ice-cream container full of water in her freezer and smashes the resulting block of ice with a hammer - the crunching sound helps her stress levels

Good luck mr man, we can all relate to this on some level and we are here for you.
She died of loneliness. Loneliness and rabies.
