CBR having a winge at me.

    k so i have a slight problem

looks as thou its either the battery or some other electrical issue but in not certain and thought a great place to check is here.

anyways so i get home from work and ride the bike into the garage, turn her off and everythings fine

morning rolls round and hello when i turn the key no lights nothing come up on the instrument cluster.. no start, headlights, nothing.. wtf?.

now im certain there were no lights left on or the key left on either..

i tryed to jump it from a car (i know i know) but no joy at all, no lights come up nothing..

    any help?..

on top of this i had to drive to work.. gah and its a nice day.

Batteries are common faults on them, $30 for a new one.

I've seen the Alternator wiring short out one one

if there's nothing at all (not even turning over), then could be a loose wire.

but a batt can be spanky new, and still get shorted out.

is there any indication that there's any power in the battery at all? dim lights, or even the dash lights..??

nothing wrong with jumping it from a car either..

Ahah! Perhaps the other one failed because of a charging problem of some kind.

true, check the fuses, but if all the circuits are running, it wouldn't be a fuse

have you checked all the wiring around the battery?
are you able to get hold of a voltimeter or any sort of electrical testing thingy? Just to make sure the battery does or does not have any charge. Then you can go from there.

Work from one end to another - ie - you have no power, so check the source. If the source is ok, follow the wiring and check the fuses (left side, front of the bike on yours) as far as you can.
If you can't check any more, or have no idea, seek someone who does..

Had that in a car once, was harder to figure out; had a relay that had gone faulty. Car acted totally 'dead' then we'd clip on the jumper leads the relay got enough current in it to work. Unplug the jumper leads and it would be fine, you could start it without jumper leads. Leave the car for a day or two, and the relay was stuck again.

    Cool

    Maybe a dud battery........
it can happen that you get a dud one..

so take it back and get them to test the battery...
They will replace it for you for FREE if its a dud one...

Can happen, but quite unlikely. Don't neglect to test everything correctly before relying on it again.
