Well I'm heading from Palmy (Suicide Capital of the World) but have just put my bike in the back of the van so will not be riding to the event. No doubt you'll pass me on the way there.

I know nobody will read this before tomorrow but:

    Went down the road today.

The practise day has left wonderful sets of dark lines running around the corners, and out of the exits. At least one person is on the ball!

deano txt me blow arsing how he kicked arse....was the man....and had yummy fritters for breakfast....and he came 3rd over all [honda cbr1000rr repsol] and won his class [roadbike I presume...although it could have been the handicapped class for honda riders]....jimbo600 [gsx-r600k4]rode it blind and with one arm [the man told me himself...not a lie] and was a close second in class behind deano [apparently he was behind deano coz he's a silly twat and was worried he'ld get lost if he passed him] and fourth over all....
Suglite [go the kawasakis....zx9r]came second over all and warren turner [yamahahahaha arse sex] came first breaking his own record in the process...

    so for the manifactures 1st:yamaha
    2nd:kawasaki
    3rd:honda
    4th:suzuki

how farkin ghey is that... next year the wairarapa hardcore will be in attendence...so we will be definatly looking for at a out right win for suzuki..
and if I do manage to lose I will personally bum fuck every one that dares beat me without lube!!!!

    I also agree Skels.
An event like this is a time to put your money where your mouth is and backup that bar room talk.
I missed this years run but would like to have a crack at the next one.
If I have done some spouting this will be the perfect opportunity to cough up or shut up.

Me... I believe the bike is only half the story. The other half is how much talent and ability you have.........and balls.

Congrats to those who entered and gave it a go.

One thing I do know is the organisers of this lost out bigtime financially. The Saturday was absolutely brillient weatherwise and only around 15 bikes entered. Sunday there where around the same and the results declared after only two timed runs because of the rain on the final part of the road.

Slopster another KBer from Palmerston North and his mate from Kapiti both on ZXR750's came 1st and 2nd in the pre 93? class.

There was a guy on an Old RD250 and an old XS650 you could turn up with anything.

Only one proper classic bike raced so he was going to come 1st in his class even if he pushed it up the hill.

Very dissapointed with the turn out. Maybe eveyone heard Deano and Jimbo would be there and didn't want to be shown up. Well thats my excuse for not riding Sunday anyway.

It was a shame that we only got 2 dry runs yesterday, but shit they were worth the $$. I got to the end of the first run after scaring myself stupid in a few places - but that's where the fun is I reckon.

Not everyone is into competing in these events, but it would be a bloody shame to lose them, which is a possibility if there is a lack of interest and support.

Come on guys - as Uncle B has said - there is enough bullshit posted in here to have expected a few more entries. The organisers even gave out a medal to a lot of the competitors, not just the top 3 in each class.

Some have mentioned how dangerous the road looked, yet I bet at least a few of you ride pretty hard on the road every weekend.

Anyway - how about some more support next year ? The organisers were also talking about a possible Featherston Sprint in the next month or so.

p.s. cheers for the 'accurate' report Poos - revenge is sweet ain't it ?

Damn right. Everyone (including me) moans about excessive police presence on the road, and when we are gifted an opportunity to race up a great bit of tarmac there's hardly any support. Use it or loose it folks. It's a great day all up. Big ups to Deano who had the hammer down, only a few seconds off Tony Sampsons pace. As we speak my bike is in WMC for a PX on a 1000.

Shame about the rain as I was just warming up to do a 2:11 run. Honest
