Thanks everyone for the interest and comments.... I agree with Keystone and Riff Raff, I was thinking of it being along the lines of a social/learning ride... and yes, it can be intimidating having guys around while learning... so a freindly environment i thought might be cool... and it can be a bit of fun too, maybe coffee run type of thing... and if it is popular, we could meet at a certain point with any interested guys to finish off the ride.... keep the ideas coming and i'll start planning next week.... cheers for the offers of help too... much appreciated.. i'll be in touch.

for the sake of fair play i have to point out that, with some of the ladies planning to go, its by no means a given that guys would be ABLE to overtake .....

Yep! I'm in, looking forward to meeting some other ladies from this site. My riding buddies are male so this will be a nice change, nothing wrong with the ride being "gender specific"... I think its a great idea! There is alot happening in March so my vote is for April, wkend after Easter... and lets make it a decent length...

I vote for April, and for a ride to the south of Auckland, to give me a better chance of being able to make it.

Ok, so I have decided the ride will go ahead late april... exact date to be confirmed possibly sunday 22nd April. The length of the ride will be medium - round 200km mark... with 2 stops and lunch in the middle. I will post the ride thread soon, if you have suggestions, please post them below... or if you want to help with organising, please send me a PM.....
