Good (cheapish) places to stay wanganui and picton?

Hi. I'm heading south with my family (unfortunately in the car but hard to fit 2 adults a 6yo girl and twin 3yo boys on the bike) during the school holidays and want to know if any of you know of a good place to stay in the following towns.
Don't need anything too flash just trying to keep costs down.

Wanganui (or around that area within 100 k's or so) Sat 15th April

Picton or Blenheim etc on sunday 16th April and Monday 17th April

or Nelson on Monday 17th April.

    Any suggestions much appreciated.

Try the Americano in Picton mate. Tell them Stu from Apex sent you.

We're going to stay at a holiday home in motueka. but want to spend a couple of nights in picton to see my mum. would stay with her but 5 more people in her council flat would be a squeeze.
