Too bad you can't come, the Loop is one of the best rides out there...another time maybe. Not sure if i'll be a starter for Sunday but will try.

    8.30's pretty keen.
9.00am sharp is the actual leave time, and i've found it best to get an earlier start cos it works in well with a lunch stop and you get home earlier in the afternoon.

The main reason I want to ride with experienced bikers is so that the ride is less complicated, and I can enjoy it much more and have peace of mind that it will go smoothly. There are special KB rides that cater for newbies & slow riders and this isn't one of them. Anyone is welcome to turn up but if you slow the group right down, get lost, or worst of all bin it, I will NOT be happy with you.

Well I wouldn't consider myself a newbie, will be a bit slower than you guys, but on past coro loops that's not been too much of a problem (that I know about) as I catch up when everyone stops.

    Hiya all.

Hey Zed, Peripheral is a good bloke and has been riding a while and done a few Coro loops. He leaves earlier from stops and always catches up again when it's fuel up or lunch time.

If you want a good long blast, I don't think he minds being left behind as he enjoys riding and of course it's so much more fun when there's other bikes around even if you don't see them for a while.

He'll be ok. It's the fact he has a 250 which slows him down overall and if he had anything bigger, he'd stick with most.

Whoa there big boy time to deflate that head a little and give a guy some credit. I have ridden Coro loop with peripheral before and he does a real nice job of it...But I guess I don't qualify either as I wouldn't be serious enough cos I just do it for enjoyment, a social scene and as a hobby..!
You sound about as flexible as a Kauri stump there mate. May I suggest, to avoid the possibility of being slowed up, finding the lost or having to help someone who has binned, (as it can happen to ANY rider) that you do these rides in your own serious and experienced company...
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

Peripheral will be fine Zed, I have done a couple of loops with him and he is a pretty good rider mate. No need to worry, but I know what you're sayin

this got a little outa whack!!

I think the overall point here is, that it's going to be a quicker paced ride. If you can handle that, then that's ok. If you're still finding your feet and not so confident, or have a slower bike, then this ride probably isn't best for you

[QUOTE=Zed]To mark the end of a great summer I thought it appropriate to organise one more blast around the Loop before the weather changes dramatically. Anyone is welcome to join me but I'd prefer to ride with more serious experienced riders!

Will be stopping at Kopu S/Stn at approx. 10.15am to refuel and meet any other riders from the Waikato/Tauranga who wish to join us.
Pace: Medium to fast riders preferred.[QUOTE]

Presume you are going to go straight over Kopu-Hikuai to Tairua.
Why not go via Paeroa-Waihi-Whangamata-Tairua etc better ride....just a thought, seeing you are getting away at a decent hour.
    Cheers
    Tony

I'll stick with the original plan tks Tony, Akl-Kopu to meet up with y'all, then over the Kopu-Hikuai's around the Loop anti-clockwise.

Tony, if you're coming up, I'm thinking we could head back south via Whangamata after departing from the Akld crew at Kopu.
