Coro Loop Ride - Sat 11/03/2006

I'm used to riding with other people that are plenty faster, while it's nice to have other people riding at the same pace at times (I can improve some aspects of my riding which are a little harder when riding by myself) I still enjoy going on group rides with faster riders as it provides some social aspect at the stops along the way versus riding by myself.

Zed if you don't want to a slower (but capable) rider tagging along then that's fine I'll either do the ride on my own or find some others to ride along with. I'd planned to do the loop anyway if the weather was good, as you mentioned the good weather won't last much longer.

Anyone else fancy a ride around Coro Loop, leaving around 9.30 from Papkura Autobahn? I'll start a separate thread if there's some interest.

Haven't done the loop in the last few weeks. I think last time was late January / early Februrary. I've been exploring other roads lately.

He's a great guy and has organised many KB rides that have catered for all levels of riding over the past years.

Zed you may find the Worlds Slowest Indian around those parts of the world on the day. Just ride on as you do and he shall ride on as he does.

Zed can ride at his pace, I'm not suggesting that he slows down so I can follow him. There's alway people riding at different paces on most group rides. Hell it'd be stupid for some people to try to keep up with some of the fast guys on rides, that's how accidents can happen.

Why is everyone so hung up on the pace of a ride??? Unless you're not stopping it's not usually a problem, sure there's rides like the newbie rides where the pace is slow to keep people together so they can learn off other riders. Especially around the coro loop where everyone stops for lunch.

Don't think about it too much and get caught up in the shit flinging that we are seeing a lot of on KB lately.

From what people have said you seem like a nice guy and Zed has said he's happy for you to join in. If not for guys like him who regularly organise rides KB would be a boring place.

Why I usually ride the pace I do with the people I do: This happens about every 15 minutes on a mixed ride.

*comes to a stop at a minor intersection*
Me: "if-niggle-whap-mumble-thingy"
OtherRider: "Eh?"
*turns off motor*
Me: "I SAID WHERE THE F**K IS EVERYONE ELSE? Err, sorry."
OtherRider: "I Don't know, I got bored and f**ked off past that milk tanker"
Me: "Oh, the others are all behind then...Oh, here they are"

It was even worse on the ride to Paeroa Races a few weeks back, with little sub groups of people coming and going. In the end, I just turned up to Paeroa with Spank and hoped everyone else made their own way.

Zed said he wants to leave early, get a move on and not get home too late. This is why you need to be either
a) Fast enough to keep up if you don't know where you're going
b) Experienced enough to look after yourself if you do know the way but like to take it slower

Scoff ya lunch and you'll be right mate and people still have to stop for gas where your machine does untold miles to the gallon.

Next Coro run, I should be along but have a ride planned this weekend already
with some fast dudes. Might be Saturday or Sunday and we could be doing the loop too, maybe. Might see ya on the run if Saturday, who knows.

I posted my attendence, will have some brand spankin Dunlop GPR 100's as my runnin shoes. So as long as no one has written a report about them, i should be able to give a little write up after the weekend.
Never done the loop before Zed but i won't hold you up. Looking forward to it.
