Planning on doing Lake Sumner on the Saturday. I MIGHT do this as well, but nothing definate at this stage. The flyer says Enduro only for the Blue and General for the Red. What level of dificulty do you reckon the Blue course would be like?

I generally ride the red first round, then if i get back and decide i want more challenge i might take some of the blue deviations next time.
I'll be at Lake Sumner with you if it goes ahead and will be keen to take the CRF out to Omihi on Sunday too.
I'll pop in to DAS and grab a flyer in the morning.

Heres the flyer 4 those who are interested...
There's another on Sunday 9th April at Scargill too.
Seriously dude... on your bike i'd do the general loop first. You can go around as many times as you want and do the enduro deviations when ever your ready.
Far queue have you done one of these before?

I bit like what he did up the river, but with hills as well.
And is normally a lot more open.

As it is a farm you ride on the tracks (4X4 farm tracks) or across paddocks until you get to bush or a ugly valley, hill or something.
But you can normally ride around these.

It's all good. You show up, pay your money and sign on. When your ready you ride to the course entrance, they check your bike over, make sure the brakes work and the front wheel aint about to fall off etc. Then your free to ride the course at your leasure. I usually turn up an hour or so after its all started just because i'm me, do a lap or two, then have something to eat back at my van and go for another lap or two. The on site BBQ catering is usually ok if you have some spare gold coins. I generally pack a sandwitch or two in my day bag incase i get hungry half way round the course. The main loop on most of these averages about 30km long and the enduro parts are just deviations off the main course that offer extra challenge then rejoin the main course.
It'll be good to see you out there so i might even try being early again to make the most of the day.

OK, the new tyres are on and I'm all set. Decided to give Lake Sumner a miss on the Sat and do this instead. So who else is going?

What time u thinking of going? I have some people to see off at 8:30 to 9am then i'll go straight from there so by the time i arrive the course will have been open for about an hour... Unless i am rude to the others and just go. Assuming i get out of bed when the alarm rings.

I'm in no panic to get away early. I was thinking of leaving home around 9ish. What are you taking - riding the transalp or trailering the CRF?

lol, it's CRF in the back of nice comfortable van. I imagine the Transalp would be no fun at all on this trip.
I just thought it'd be nice to be able to arrive in time to do the first lap with mates.

    Cool

Looks like this is happening just behind my old home - I originally come from Omihi!!! How nostalgic. Won't be there though, the R6 wouldn't cope

Yes, it would. Well, I'll probably be there around 0945 I would guess and hit the track around 1000. If you're not there when I arrive I'll txt you for an ETA and hang about if you're not too far away.

This all depends on the weather of course, I'm not going if it's pissing down, which looks possible according to the weather on TV tonight.
