Wanting to know approx value of Suzuki GT125

    Hi,

I have been offered a very good condition Suzuki GT125. It has just over 25,000 kms which the owner says is genuine. It needs a couple of small things for a warrant but is generally in great condition. I was wondering what the approximate value would be? The seller wants at least $800.

    Thanks

I think it's a reasonable price from the little knowledge I have. What does it need for a warrant? Do you know when it last had it's piston and ring replaced? Should be no problem getting a piston and ring, Motoequip has them cheap (http://www.motoequip.co.nz/Parts.htm) Getting a shop to replace them should cost around 200 bucks unless you or someone you know can do it for you.

    Hope that helps

Forget it, not worth $800 if it doesn't have a Warrant already.

    Speaking from experience.

I have one out in the garage at the moment, only good things on it are the front forks, front disc brake/caliper and the pillion pegs (Stripping parts for my Suzuki A100 bucket racer).

Otherwise, heavy, slow, old piece of shit.

EDIT, for $800 if you looked around you have a good chance of picking up a good condition Suzuki GN250.

Depending on the year they were either $799 or $899 brand new. They were a very good wee bike in their day, but not as quick or as good handling as the bike they replaced... the T125II Stinger.

In good condition with current wof and reg they could be worth $700, but unregistered and unwarranted $250 would be max.
    Time to ride
