I'm shocked that the Council contacted your work - that is a clear breach of the Privacy Act. You should complain to the Privacy Commissioner and you might even get a small payment from the Council as compensation.

However you'll have to satisfy the Commissioner that a Council officer contacted your employer which means you need to know who rang. It might have been anonymous just a voice saying they were from the Council.

Noise complaints are very difficult and often subjective problems. I recall a problem where an exterior heatpump motor drove the neighbour up the wall. Not particularly loud but incessant and at an annoying pitch.

In the end the homeowner removed the heatpump rather than have a war with the neighbour.

NCO didn't ring my employer direict as we are independent owned agencys he rang head office he introduced himself as ---- giving his full name and saying that he worked for rodney district council noise control.

They obviously don’t like bikes, to keep them happy sell the Bus and get a nice, safe RX7 and a good wholesome hobby... like model aircraft.
That way they won’t have to listen to your bike but instead be pacified by the soothing sound of RARARARARAWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! or WWWWEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! Depending on the day’s vindictiveness level.
Failing that, get some ear plugs a really BIG amp and a bunch of Ramstine CD's.
