Well done Pedrosa for making a race of it.
Capirossi was looking a bit ragged in the last laps.
Rossi being butted off will just make the season more interesting points wise.![]()

i stayed up to watch it but didn't realise they had the 125 and 250 classes on before the 500's as well! fell as sleep on the dam couch!
gone.
It was a great race.
The most interesting race was the one for 3rd spot in the 250 class, 3 riders fighting it out till the last lap.
On the main race, Rossi, unusually was not even on the front row and had contact with another rider (didn't see who the rider was and the comentators couldn't make it out either, then the bike that tagged Rossi split right between Rossi's bike and his helmet. Rossi got to his feet fast and re-joined the race at the back of the field to finish 14th and grab 2 points. At the front, new commer and ex-250 rider Casey Stoner from Australia did well, mixing up with the big names, started 6th and finished 5th, not a bad result for your debut on a GP bike.
Danni Pedrosa had a great race, staying behind his team mate Niky Hayden for around 7 or 8 laps, then he got past Niky and went on the charge chasing down Caparosi on the Ducati. Pedrosa was pulling in 2 tenths of a second lap after lap till he was .410 behind the Ducati. Caparosi was on Bridgestones and Perdosa was on Michilin's, both had a medium compound front and rear and both were going pound for pound. Caparosi was pushing hard and 2 wheel drifting pretty much every corner. Pedrosa, being so small would have the advantage as he weighs around 48 kilos and probably did slightly less damage to his tyres, but the experience and fitness of Caparosi prevailed giving him a 2.5 second lead at the chequered flag. Pedrosa Second, Hayden 3rd.
A great race, Danni Pedrosa obviously has the minerals, but i think he is going to struggle to go the distance at pace when Rosi gets to the front on the Yamaha, until his fitness gains at least. Clearly he has the skill and maturity to win a MotoGP race this season.
Looking forward to round 2.

Was tony elias, Good to see Rossis Hex on Gibby meant that he is still in front of him in the standings![]()
Anyone else note the broken brake lever on rossis bike! And they reckon Pedrosa is lacking fitness due to the size increase of the bike and the fact he is tiny.
it was ironic where Rossi's camera was, just the right place to show the broken lever but i was impressed how it wasn't bent or even moving up and down after the slide.Originally Posted by sAsLEX
As for Pedrosa, i think he is gonna suffer with fitness for a while but no doubt he will be focusing on that for a while now.
Also why did Prime cut the coverage as soon as the race finished, i wanted to here the interviews and see Caparosi lift his trophy. I wanted to here Rossi's take on the first corner incident. It just felt a little rushed

Hats off to Rossi, he still got back on the bike......guess he needed to test the bike out with that front end chatter....he never really made up time and he is normally so good at that which suggests he was just giving the bike a run out.
He was definetly not at fault on the first bend in my book.
Would be the type of material they use, light and dont bendOriginally Posted by Postie
Yeah they have a habit of providing not quite enough and delaying the coverage for shit programming no one watches, I bet their viewership plummetted as soon as that American Propaganda Feed took over from the GP,
He looked might pissed off after his off !!. Mind you, so would I be.
He ended getting 14th I think.

I wouldn't want to be Elias (it looked like him) after taking Rossi out in his first MotoGP race.
Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
he's probably targeted for assignation alreadyOriginally Posted by Lou Girardin

The Dukes looked strong. Five Hondas in the top 6 bikes though.
Rossi has already had an apology from Tony Elias after the race and even seemed to joke about the incident a little. "I told him not to worry - only to remember to brake next time and if it is too late, to hit another bike instead of me!"
