VISA buys 85% of Rolling Stones

So the corporate whores that are VISA NZ have bought up an estimated 85% of the rolling stones tickets before they went officially on sale. Effectively turning it into a HUGE corporate event.

The sad part of this is the 15% of tickets that went on sale yesterday took their own sweet time to sell, interesting.

Thats ridiculous. There should be laws against shit like that.
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Stopped buying Stone's albums years ago. The last 'raw' album they made was Goat's Head Soup.' Mind you they have stayed the distance so creds for that.

From the promoters view it's the way to go. Now VISA has to sell the tickets and it's their loss if they can't. I'll be watcing with interest to see how they go.

My understanding is that last friday tickets went on presale through the visa network only, everyone who doesnt have a visa card had to wait and hope that they didnt sell out. It may be that the sales for visa customers were capped at the 85% mark? Not sure, but I would imagine that you will find that those "85%" will now be in the hands of visa customers, not visa employees.

so why are you complaining - if the remainder took a while to sell?
do you think that possibly the fact that VISA got involved and pre-bought a lot of the tickets meant the tour could actually play in NZ, and have a $55 base ticket price?
    are you actually going?
"corporate whores" run business. you probably live, work and eat in the free market.
if you don't like it, complain from your self-sufficient commune.

I tried to buy 4 tickets but the system got all messed up and would not let me purchase any.. (and then when I complained they told me it didn't happen only for me to find I was one of many that had problems)

I took it as a warning from Johnny Cash not to turn to the darkside....

So we are not going... We are going to protest instead and am currently negotiating the marketting and Tee shirt rights to the protest with Bishop Tamaki

I have no idea why people would want to pay good money to see the rolling stones :-)

It's like buying food 30 years past its use by date :-)

I agree - like watching your Grandad dance. They should have chucked it in years ago.
