Seems to me that most english soccer players are lyin'/cheatin'/cryin' overpaid mummy's boys. About all i can take is the wee wee bit at the end of the sport news. One does see a few good goals scored, even the odd own goal......:slap: i used to love the game as a young fulla, even played, best team on earth back then (early 70's) was Leeds, i knew all the player names of that team, now?? who the fuck can pronounce half of them? GO THE AB'S.........

If the English soc... roundball league is that good - why hasn't England won a soccer world cup for so long?

John Terry, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Sean Wright-Phillips, Damien Duff (Irish - close enough )... no, there's no English players at Chelsea...

My GF's parents are from Chelsea, so that side of the family are blue supporters... I've been Man U red since I discovered football in '88 as a wee 8 yr old.

Consequently the last couple of seasons have made for interesting viewing in this household!

And if you want to criticise teams with few English players, try Arsenal and Middlesborough... in their recent match there was only 1 English player on the pitch!!!!

In any case - good work Fulham!! (Just don't tell the missus I said that!)

Now thats an argument I havent heard before!! I agree with both the above and 27 , about the imports ...ITS the ENGLISH league ..so you should have English passportation . now matter what name /color.

Now as to whats better Rugby or soccer, well I am afraid that I am with the other 99 percent( or 80 percent if you exclude golf or that strange game the americans play ) MOST of the world watch soccer , a small south pacific country with 4 million people ( and the odd australian) watch rugby, In my neighborhood...there are 250 00 people and in the city there is about 3 million and in the largest city there is 12,3 million ......

its a big ole world outside those front gates

    Stephen

but you are right about womens wieght lifting ....No ..Bad bad Bad ,,not good very not good ,,,,euuuuuuu

I've watched all three all my life and played the top two for as long (well until I moved here and saw those big islanders that treat the ball as an optional extra). Union is the one, at all bar the highest level, whatever size or shape you are there's a position you can play, truly the game they play in heaven (hey that's NZ right?).

Oh and another thing, why can't soccer players learn that it is perfectly acceptable to knock seven shades out of each other on the pitch then shake hands and share a beer afterwards?

You must be loving the TV at the moment, some of those Aussie women swimmers are scary, shoulders like prop forwards.....

Mind you, yesterday was an improvement, Heptathlon high-jump and Anna Rowberry's legs.

Nah - not particularly interested in 'games' any more, a glance at the medal table does me.

I'm a basketballer and it's prime time for that at the mo.
NBA, NCAA and I've been into the World baseball classic too - as well as the UK footy - and NRL.

Funnily enough for an advocate of living in NZ - one of the few ball games I can't cop is Rugby Union - I go and talk to the wimmen whan dat shit is on.
