If I do miss you - What route do I take??
From Westgate I will be heading up SH16 until Wellsford. Then from Wellsford up SH1 until the SH12 turnoff (Brynderwyns). From there it is plain sailing. The little township is centred on a really sharp corner at the western end of it. You wont miss the bikes there.Originally Posted by justsomeguy

AUCKLAND TO PAPAROA
SHELL WESTGATE, SATURDAY 25th MARCH, LEAVING 8:30AM 'ish
Just incase there are people interested in coming from Auckland but as usual are too lazy to read through the entire thread.
I will be leaving Shell Westgate at 8:30 AM (roughly) heading for Paparoa, hoping to arrive sometime between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM. Traffic is likely to be heavy along State Highway 1 and possibly 16, however from memory 12 isn't awefully popular, maybe the occasional camper van and dickhead 4x4.
The route is simple.
From Westgate, go up SH16 then turn off onto Old North, carry on through then right and onto Peak road. Head along peak road until the church, turning right onto SH16 again. From there, following SH16 all the way up to Wellsford. From there, onto SH1 and then when we reach the Brynderwyns, a left turn onto SH12 (heading for Dargahole).
Following SH12 all the way until we reach Paparoa. From memory, Paparoa at the western end has a rediculously sharp corner, a 35kmp/h or similar. If you pass this, you've gone too far, the bikes in town should be easy to spot.
My bike only has a top end of 150 - 160kmp/h however I go medium speed through corners. If your on a bigger bike and want to follow me up, the route above is pretty accurate and easy to follow if I'm too slow for you. In which case your a cunt with a bigger bike compensating for your lack of riding ability.
And for the record, John is a homo.
See you all tomorrow.

That's blimmin charming innit swanny, no way to talk to your e-friends! I'll probably be joining you at Westgate, but somehow I don't think i'll be following you up??Originally Posted by swanny
Looking forward to riding with the *Northlanders Crew* again on those superb 'yellow' roads from Paparoa thru to Kaikohe, done them once or twice now so getting more confident. Let's hope for DRY weather & roads!!
