Kite string kills biker

A biker was killed when a razor-sharp kite string slit his throat in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Nauman Nazir was riding through the city’s bazaar when he hit the kite string, police said.

Kite-flyers in Pakistan often use strings made of wire or coated with ground glass for "duelling" - trying to cross and cut an opponent's string or damage the other kite - often after betting on the outcome.

Pakistan’s largest province, Punjab, has banned the manufacture, sale and flying of kites.
