As someone already said, they don't seem to do that for heavy vehicle classes, so obviously they think it is ok to be condescending to someone learning to drive a car or motorbike, but not a truck. It would be a brave person to send the "Congratulations, you're allowed to drive on the road. Make sure you get lots of practise!" letter to someone who just got a learner licence for 25 ton trucks.Originally Posted by Lias
It seems odd that they have 6 licence classes, but don't seem to expect anyone to have more than one at any time. When I got my bike licence I applied for a class 4 learners as well. The form had a little check box for "applying for additional licence class(es)" so I filled out one form for both classes. No, you have to have two forms. And I had to go through the licencing process twice. They tested my eyes twice, they took my photo twice. The person serving me was very confused, because they didn't have the faintest idea what you need to do to apply for a 4L, so I had to explain it to them. The whole process took an hour, and by the end the various people who had been serving me were so confused they forgot to ask me to pay. So I had to go back a couple of days later to pay the whole fee in cash (I figured that if I didn't pay they would cancel my licence, including the two classes I already had).
sooooo looking forward to going through it all again when I get my restricted![]()
