Aunty NC and I just took the puppies to the SPCA - here's hoping they make it to the adoption process. One of them is quite a good escape artist and managed to get out of the big plastic box thingee to leave an aromatic present in the back of the station wagon.

They look like incredibly beautiful dogs who will probably develop a unique personality. Its just a pity that you gave them to the SPCA, as now they'll turn out to be bored house pets with kids yanking their tails for the rest of their lives.
I got my dog from my partner (before we were togeather) and he came from a bad start in life. When she went around to the ladies house for an unrelated purpose, she found two dead puppies in the yard and a bunch of starving puppies with a bad case of worms and some had rickets.
Hes the funniest and most intelligent dog you'll ever meet. Excellent for hunting, extremely agile and protective too, yet friendly and always wants a cuddle. Just goes to show... the best dogs are the mungrels who had a shitty start in life.
Proof attached.
But the really tragic thing about this is some people look after their pets better than they do their kids.
Don't get me started about beneficiaries and big dogs...

Fuck, reading some of these storys makes me so bloody angry. How can a human being be so capable of such horrendous acts of cruelty. Im an avid animal lover and I wish that the same bloody penalties were imposed on people for kicking a dog or cat, just as they would be charged for kicking a human being or child.
On my own tangent now. When I was in the Army doing a bit of training in the hills, we were doing a bit of sneaking and attacking practise on another platoon who thought they were the shit. Anyway I was hust behind point when he came across a cat and a litter of her kittens, but the image that has burnt into my barin for all time was that this poor female cat who I could see would have been a beautiful longhair had had her tail cudely broken, a paw cut off and she had pins stuck in both rear paws. I couldn't fucken believe it!
Anyway, we decided to stop and see what we could do about this (one of the guys took the cat and her litter away, I never heard what became of them) and the other 3 of us (5 if you include the Staff) decided that we might call on the farmer who owned the land and ask if he knew anything about it and what he could do to help. Anyway, turns out this fat MF, arse bandit was the C%$T who dumped them there. Anyway, after a few hours of chatting to him, his wife and explaining to his elderly parents, who were there, what was the downside in us finding this out I can say I honestly look back and say that that was one of my proudest moments in the army.
Good on ya RR and WT. You guys are bloody hero's.

Jesus those stories bought tears to my eyes! I hate people who hurt animals because they don't know what is happening and can't always fight back... poor wee things![]()
Last year when I was driving home from uni I saw a cat lying on the side of the road that had been hit. My best friend and I who love animals decided to turn around and try and save this poor wee kitty. We tried to find the owners to tell them what had happened but the houses we went to said they didn't know who it belonged to. By the time we got back to the cat it had died. Now I wish we had of just taken it to the vet to start with and maybe have saved its life. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I hadn't of stopped. We wrapped it in a towel and one of the neighbours took it just incase someone came to ask if she had seen it... My best friend and I proceeded to cry our way home![]()
I'm gonna make it so PC
I know your pain. I was sitting outside having a cup of coffee yesterday morning, and the next door neighbours kids let a dog loose on a 6 month old kitten, the kitten barely escaped alive, and was trembling so much, it was like I was holding a cake mixer.
The fucking hopeless woman next door is a shit for brains, and this is her fourth kitten in four months, she lost the other 3, because she lets the kids do anything to the kittens, and they have all run away, and the oldest boy is a sadistic fuck, and is the next generation of serial killer imo.
Kitten has been in my house ever since, and is going to the SPCA tomorrow. I scared the kid a fair bit after I saw him let the dog loose on the kitten, and he went crying to Mum, and she did nothing, because she knows not to fuck with me, after the last episode of neighbour rivalry, where she lost out big time.
Excuse my language, but this sort of thing with dumped pets, and people who should never have pets just boils my blood.
Good work for rescuing the pups. I am would love to take the people who did it, and tie them up in a bag, and leave them on the desert road, and see how they go.

Second that, to all of the above bar knee sliders.![]()
We have had two cats now, that were cast offs, and they have had real character. Sometimes animals need to be put down, but crap, how hard is it to get a vet to do it, or take them to the SPCA?? even at worst do it in a clean manner, but dumping them, or starving them? heartless busstids!![]()
We'll get dogs, but only when we are in a house that has a decent whack of land, I like big Dogs, and it seems criminal to keep them in small town sections.
On a lighter note, Look at all the big hard bikers, all so sad for the cute little puppies!! yeah, watch out for those bikers, hard people, bad news I tells ya!!![]()

My father was looking after my sisters dog for quite some time, eventually it went wild and only trusted a few people. It still was an extremely good dog however being wild it got a bit nutty and also contracted a few diseases.
He decided to have the dog put down when he moved into town, but was a complete tight arse when it came to paying a vet to do it. Instead, he created a very humane gas chamber out of a fridge, put the dog in the fridge with a bone and it fell asleep - and never woke up again.
I wish I was in a position at the time to take the dog as it trusted me. It was a complete mungrel, female too, but had a killer attitude and would protect anything it valued. However that was one of its downfalls in the attempts of finding it a new home.
End of the day. Shit happens. Lots of cruel things occur and I would think the majority of them are commited by we humans. You just have to learn to accept that despite our supposedly democratic societies, stable economy and so on - we're savage killers - though most have been watered down and raised on mummy's tit too long.
I think its better to have a dog in a smaller section or more confined area as long as it has a very active lifestyle. The reason I say this is because if you keep the dog inside, it will bond much more fluently with you and your family. After 5 years you'll have a dog that will take on pack of lions to protect you, or will never fail to greet you at the door with a big fat wet smooch.Originally Posted by kickingzebra

Thanks for all your comments and green bling folks. I have to say it was a good thing that Cowpoos was around with advice on how much to feed the pups - basically 1 tablespoon of food every 4 to 6 hours. I told the SPCA this and they agreed that if they had eaten any more in one go they would have likely gone into shock due to the condition they were in.
One of the pups came close to gaining a new mum in the form of NC. Would have been interesting initiation into the world of motorbikes for it on the long trip back to Wellington!
