    I'm somewhat annoyed, by golly

Oh for the love of red tape and bureaucracy!

Failed the eyesight 'test' for the Restricted licence

Went to optometrist and got certificate that my eyesight was fine

Went today to book for Restricted and turns out Optometrist mistakenly ticked 'Yes' to riding with lenses in summary section. "But wait" says me "all other boxes are ticked "no lenses" so surely that overrides the summary?"

But no, the fucking stupid bitch behind the counter says "we don't look at the detail, only the summary"

So off I shoot to the dumb arse optometrist to get a new form, arrive back to the booking office and the fucking place is shut!

    Goddamnmutherfucker!!

Got to love a test that fails the vast majority of people who come back with a pass from the eye doctor!

Above is a link to the booking page for your test online... you can also call Land Transport (which is what I did) on 0800 822 422

you do have to book with a Visa/Mastercard... but is easy and convenient.

no probs... just make sure you allow a good half hour to get the paper work sorted at the AA on the day, before your test... mine took just over 30 mins waiting in the que to do!!! they are soo slow.. taking the eye cert speeds it up tho..

If the bastard Optometrist has filled it out properly - he got paid $20 for ten minutes work and still made a shambles of it....as usual I will have to check everyones work

The Association of Optometrists was not consulted prior to the then LTSA's decision to procure the dreaded Tiflis machines. There will always be problems with any machine that endeavours to test eyesight.

I passed the eye test when they brought out the new licences...
    Odd, considering I need glasses.

    Talking

What the hell would a optometrist know, its not like they have gone throught all the intense training the LTSA staff have. It must take years to learn how not to have a mind of your own, to be able to kill common sense from your work environment, to avoid giving a straight simple answer to a question or request. You put way to much faith in the optometrist....
