ZXR250 newbie! Anyone's thoughts on my choice of bike?

Hi to all! Just bought myself a black 90' zxr250, (damaged) so am about to start the process of gettin it on the road(cant wait!!) cant seem to get it started but did see it runnin at the auctions, so wondered if anyone had any tips for tryin to fire it over?!!!

Also lookin for a cheap plastic welder in welly to sort my fairings, will be painting it myself. Gonna be doin it in a candy red and gettin the frame and muffler etc. polished, should be a stunner by the time vtnz slap a wof on it!

Sorry about the long rave, wonderd what peoples thoughts are on these bikes??

Welcome to the site. Nice bike! I'm doing up my honda and its real fun to turn a spanner and have something to do with how good it looks and runs. Like your taste in colour.

Parts try atomic or buckets and bits, have had good experiences with both.

i had one, of them in a worse state than yours by the sounds of things.

What you need to do is make up a small gas tank (read 2L bottle attached to gas hose) so the usually tank is off obviously. take the airbox off, and spray a little lynx or other deodorant into the carbs, that usually works to start an engine thats been lying for a while.

Also clean the plugs and a new battery will help big time too.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Not sure about everything Gareth_D said, but cleaning the plugs is a definite... Made a HUGE difference on my GF170

Hey man nice choice of bike. Give crazefox a PM he recently fixed my fucked front fairing(Was smashed pretty much into bits on one side) and made an awsome job of it. Wasn't too badly priced either and didn't take too long.
You know you had a good nite when you have to ask someone if you had a good nite.
