    Starting problems

    hi guys

    Im having a hell of alot of trouble starting my XR250 bike. Even when its warm i still have trouble starting it. Any tips or tricks that you guys cn help me with? Or mods to make it easer? Also sometimes when i gt off to open gate etc and leave it in neutral, i craps out wen i gt back on and give it some throttle. These linked in anyway? cheers

    How clean is the air filter?,take the spark plug cap off and spray some crc on it,check to see if the choke is stuck, drain the float bowl(undo the 17mm bolt on the bottom of the carb and make shure the fuel is off!!!),Try different spark plug , take off auto decompression cable(they just breack any way), and last but not least rejet it .
    If none of this works there might be water in you ignition or exhaust.
    But first try speeding up the idle

    Carb problems somewhere - float level too low or high,idle mixture or air leaks somewhere.Strip and rebuild the carb,paying attention to all settings.

    haha. I might be dumb but im nt stupid. lol. cause i no dat. Wot did u mean bi opening up the throttle? il start there. haha

    One where they teach you proper English would be more important I suspect.

    But just go with what the others told you and if not sure of things get a workshop manual.

    there should be a black little nob thing(supper technical words eh?)that you can turn to slow or speed up the idle oh and its on the left hand side of the carb

    found it. Which way opens the throttle up? When the springs compressed?

    no the choke is that long black lever on the side of the carb that has three correct possitions closed, half and open
