If you've got it fairly well off to you (and remember, you're riding the bike, not these guys, but another opinion never hurts), the next step is the big bucks for things like new rear shock and fork internals..
Does Ray Clee run a shop out there?

    Anyone got the number? Website?

Norm Cobb is my guru at suspension Tech in Ellerslie. Rebuilds my shocks and consults. Good bloke and sets up some top race teams on and off road.

Robert Taylor is Kiwi Rider's man at Hawera Motorcycles.

Hey Dave do you have contact details for Norm? I heard he is the MAN when it comes to suspension. He was the one that taught Matt at Mt Edens everything he knows about suspension.

    From the white pages:

    Suspension Tech International Ltd
    30 A Findlay Street Ellerslie Auckland 0-9-525 1249

    I'm guessing this is them.

How do you know he's the man, Fishslayer?

True...might go and see him then...Henderson is a bit far out in the whops from me, even if the name is famous.

You having trouble with yours? You got factory gear?.

I am setting up my sag properly tomorrow after work then gonna play with the compression and rebound on Saturday. Got some good advice from Matt at Mt Edens. Very helpful, knowledgable guy (he was taught by Norm).

Not so much trouble, just want to get the most out of it. All factory stuff.

Although, if the price is right, I think I'll get Ohlins or some sort of replacement springs for the front. It's a bit soft right now.

Would love an Ohlins rear...but gotta get rid of student debt before I can justify that.

So to reserect an old Thread, nobody can say I dont use the search function.

Seems these Suspension Tech International Ltd fullas seem to be pretty good. Anyone that posted early in this thread end up using them? or has anybody else used them? Would love to go down and see Shaun Harris but really dont have the time for the trip down so looking for someone that knows a thing or two about suspension a bit closer to home.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

And Shaun comes to Auckland every now and then to do set ups, but he is too noble to say so when he can put someone else up first, you could always PM him to see if that works for you both.
Or you could take his advice and go see Norm.

    This thread is old as.

Since I started this thread I sorted my suspension on the CBR1000RR all by myself by smashing it into a clay bank.

Then I bought the K6 Gixxer 1000 which I had Shaun Harris setup the suspension for me, which was damn good!. Shaun did a fantastic job at transforming my marshmallow ride into a line holding confidence inspiring bike. If anyone has suspension issues I highly recommend getting in contact with him to get your ride sorted, I know he will be getting all future suspension work from me when I get another one.
