So long ago I can't remember. I think mainly I was glad to be on a bike that I didn't have to pedal! Hmmm. I was an 18 year old male though so I probably wasn't worried about the dangers.

You are ok, the vehicle can be repaired, if you had been on a bike then you would be smarting but then again you might have avoided it altogether as others have stated.
Nothing can prepare you for the first time you have an accident on a bike, but if you are as prepared as you can be then you should be ok and learn lots from the experience. I have been riding 26 years and had several occasions when I have been knocked off by dumb cagers but I still ride and love it. This morning someone drove into the rear of my car, it just happens.
nothing is guaranteed, live life anyway, do what you love and enjoy it. Someone on site has a signature (sorry cant remember who) something to the effect of ' dont be afraid that your life will end, only that you may have done nothing with it.'
BTW welcome to the site. lol

Welcome Buffy, sorry to hear about your accident and glad you're OK. On the accident front, I feel safer in traffic on a bike as weird as it sounds. You can avoid a lot better on a bike than you can in a cage.

Go on do it, feel some wind in yer face. You get places quicker on a bike too LOL.

It wasn't just about my car mate... about me asking whether people starting out biking felt the same way as me about getting crashed into. Which I clearly said!!! Twice!!

And yeh... sticking up for me may help him score

sorry, i didn't read that far, i have a short attention span and i fell asleep.
but are you saying that you have been thinking about getting a bike and all was fine and dandy, but you had a car accident and then you thought "what would happen if i had a crash on a bike?" did you not consider that you could have an accident on a bike before this incident with your car?

Well yeh I did consider that I could have an accident on a bike... seen as I have read quite a bit about people on here who have had accidents.. I am not saying that now I will stay in my room and never leave just incase of danger! Life is about risk blah blah blah
This thread was just something that came to mind in the midst of my accident and I was curious to see whether other people felt the same way

Yes! this is a bikers forum but there are a number of members on here that drive cages but are thinking of changing over. Let's not discourage them...

have you seen the price of petrol now?

every second person i talk to is a 'potential biker', doesn't mean squat till they get a bike though does it?
