Drilling holes in fork clamps?

Trying to put a new tacho and speedo on the gsxr. Will I have problems warrenting my bike if I drill holes in the top fork clamp to mount the gagues?

I could just go and ask at VTNZ or sumthing but they will piss me round so thought id try here first. Any info?

can you see a possible alternative?? If not then I'd keep my mouth shut.
