Question SAT 1st. Anybody riding out from Auckland?

I was wondering if anyone was planning a ride on saturday. I need to clock up some k's and run my zx in, so the pace won't be too fast, yet... Anyone else interested.
Perhaps start from westgate and head north?
I've no definate plans yet so any suggestions?
So its 9am departing shell westgate , and maybe head to wellsford, and then just see from there.
Anybody know how to get to the salty dog ,sandspit?

    Thumbs up

Nice meeting & riding with you guys this morning, apart from all the roads works up SH16 and the filthy state of my bike, I now feel quite fulfilled!

First time i've seen the '06 ZX-10 in the flesh and they are a very nice compact machine indeed, specially in black, congrats Neil! Lucky for me you were still running it in eh!

Till next time, take care out there!

Nice meeting / riding with you guys today, was good fun.

Heaps of road works on SH16, gravel and mud everywhere. I used to be not that keen riding on gravel, but i've been working on it over the last couple of months, I don't really mind it at all now, just got to get used to the bike moving around under you, don't hold on too tight, keep the throttle on etc. If I had the money, I wouldn't mind a trail bike of some kind. Maybe santa will get me one if i'm good this year...

Saw a bike sitting on the side of the road on the way back, as we got closer I could see that he had a flat tyre. Rider was not on the scene but we managed to get hold of him a couple of 100m's down the road. The guy had a KB tee shirt but wasn't from KB, turns out he got the shirt from an op shop. (How does a KB shirt find its way into an op shop??????) Luckily I had a repair kit so no worries right? Hmmm first problem was finding the leak, wasn't that easy to spot anything but we cleaned and plugged up what we thought was the hole and inflated the tyre with a CO2 cannister only to discover that there was still a leak. Seems all we had done with the repair kit was create and then repair a separate hole . Anyway, the tyre was now partially inflated so LXS put his finger over the original hole while the guy rushed to get his gear on so he could make it to KKK before the tyre lost all of its air.

Met up with the guy at KKK caltex and talked some shit / had a few laughs over a coke and a smoke.

Done and dusted. Cheers again guys, have to do it again sometime.
