well you can't have a real jinx theory and then TALK about it! Come on.. everyone knows that.. its gotta be so super secret that no one actually knows what the jinx even is and is too afraid to ask about it for fear it will get them.
Sheesh!

I do about 1/4 of the riding I'd like to do and my prefered riding is done with a few close friends that travell at (almost) the same speed as me.Originally Posted by Coldkiwi
Similar to the ride you, Zed and Paco? took us on. Great fun, no one out of their depth or doing anything silly.
In a group ride the only one who feels worse about a bin than the organiser, is the binner. Mostly extremely apologetic for buggering someone elses day. I had an e-mail from two of the three crashers from my last group ride and both of them were extremely concerned that everyone else was put out by their mistake. But that's it, mistakes happen and everbody learns.
i believe that there is so much talent out there, especially on this forum, that it would be a crime not to continue group rides simply for the fear of someone crashing. The most enthusiastic group riders in my group are both new riders and it's staggering to watch their ability grow. Rowan (famed upside down GSXR400 crasher) said to me today, from Edinborough, that his riding had improved 4 times as fast riding with us as it would of by himself and despite his incident, he wants to know if I'll welcome him back? Ummm.........No? Get real, the guy is the future of motorcycling, even if a leg injury could spell an end to his career.
I will continue to organise group rides and make no apologies for anyone who crashes (unless it IS my fault) as it's part of learning and I want to see others succeed and perhaps learn from my experiences.
Whewww.....that was a bit long winded!![]()

Oh yeah! That wasn't a dig at anybody, least of all you, CK.
I was just thinking about why I continued to host group rides when I prefered to ride with people I know.

Well, you'll never get to know new people if you don't host group rides ayOriginally Posted by White trash
Well when I witnessed my first crash last year, mate got highsided into the other lane going over the port hills when I was about 20m behind him, I was scared shitless. I was shaking all over and could hardly sleep that night, but got over it about a day or two later. I've seen 2 other crashes since then and didn't get shaken up at all, but that might have been because the rider's weren't injured.Originally Posted by Zed
But at the end of the day there are always going to be crashes, just have to make sure that you aren't one of them.
Ride safe guys.

hehe. likewise!!! I gotta say, its good to go out in a similarly skilled group. I only wish we'd been able to take the tour on some slightly more friendly roads that don't have so many suprises. ah well.. next time
(ok.. I'll be honest... I probably wouldn't be able to pass you on roads I knew better either... but I can live with that since you're getting rid of the gsxr anyway I can claim some dubious mechanical disadvantage!)
