My opinion of overtaking on blind corners, using both lanes and other seemingly risky antics has changed somewhat.

After meeting some of the Norfland Crew and knowing how they ride, its proof that accidents occur because of peoples MISTAKES and not their TAKING RISKS.

One great Surgeon said "Where you see risk I see opportunity"

    Personal preference is the key.

One point I'd like to make about the Norfland lot is that they ride there own ride (even if it is dangerous to some). They don't try to prove anything.

    Different for Dorklanders.

Cheers dude,appreciated...was going to pipe up before re this but wasn't interested in a shit slinging match especially on this thread after such a great ride.
I just hope that the rest might see where you are coming from as we certainly weren't out to impress anyone, not our cuppa at all.

i dont think anyone was out to impress anyone on the day,i certainly didnt see anyone and the main thing is everyone got home safe--(we all have different riding styles,)

    Arrow

I think that it is important that I throw in here that I do NOT agree with overtaking DURING a blind corner whatsoever...

    good point GIXser.

All the people I could see from the back were riding their own ride which was awesome to see.

Who was the fella on the Honda cruiser? Huge respect to him for coming along, very rarely do you see a cruiser come out on a KB ride. I think that highlights how much of a success this ride was by having two paces and been well organised.

Well done again to QKCHICK and her Kitchen Bitch.

Post # 670 from Motoracer, you seem to be well educated and in a good headspace, i for one was impressed to the fullest when you passed us going into a right/left S bend. I agree with the post about ,not being out to impress, but sometimes, one cant help but feel that way by what they see

    a very successful ride!

    Big thanks to:

Custard, TLtoeless, The rest of the Norfland Crew for hosting us noisey lot. Sharkeys @ Bailieys Beach (please drop in for great food if youre in the area), for the tremendus support and great service A great effort from UncleB who came up all the way from Welllington to join us, 2much and wybmadiity (goin hard on her GSX) and all the rest who made the effort from deep, dark south.

THIS RIDE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SO SUCCESSFUL WITHOUT THE PARTICIPANTS - THANKS ALL WHO ATTENDED. Together we raised $204.50 for SPANKME, Im sure he will put it to good use :spudwow:

Keep ya eyes peeled for the next organised weekend ride, hopefully within the next 3 months or so, however I am still doin the Thursday Night rides for those with 'mid-week withdrawls'. We will give you plenty of notice, so no excuses this time
Hi guys custard/qkkid here. Thanks to all those generous kiwibikers who gave more than just a gold coin. It was nice to have a nice chat with Riderinblack your okay buddy glad we had a laugh about it no hard feelings . I myself would like to say had a awesome ride, thanks to everyone for being apart of it nice to catch up with so many people with a common interest. If it was not for you guys it would not have been the success it was. I am very pleased to say i survived the whole ride still under a motorbike accident injury from the 6th of Feburary which for those who did not know was the last big ride qkchk/custard/tlrider/ organised, as i rode with only 20% wrist capabuility in my left hand. Cant wait to organise another big ride ,i shall put another vote/thread up soon. Thanks for all the lovely comments and appreciation hope we/all the organisers get some green bling cheers steve .

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
