    Cops riding shotgun on trains

Where do they come up with the resources for this ?

Is a cop with a camera more of a deterrant than a 50 tonne train bearing down on you ?

Surely there aren't enough 'rail crossing incidents' to include this as a viable revenue stream ?

Nah, I can't be bothered watching the world go to shit every evening at 6. Why would you sit on a train waiting for idiots? This is my hard earned tax money dammit

How absolutely bloody stupid. A total waste of resources and police time since they will ALSO have a cop cage following the train and able to give persuit if required.

Just give the train drivers RPG's!!!!!!!!

It makes a mockery of the "speed kills" bullshit propaganda. Once again, "shit driving kills"...

I dont know why they bother. I thought rail crossings were self-policing. Darwin at work.

It makes headlines. They are seen to be 'doing something' about a non-problem.

I think I recall that 6 people get killed every year or something. Nevermind the millions dying of malaria.

In rare events someone in the train gets killed. That's the sad part. If only self-selecting idiotic road users got killed, I would just consider it "thinning the herd".

I have a better idea than imposing costs on the Police.

Stick a farken big sharp vertical wedge on the front of the trains so when they hit something, they just cut straight through it like an axe through a warm cheese scone.

Where's the problem? It's two less cops and one less car handing out tickets for 111km/h on empty four-lane motorways.

Unless they're sucking it from the general duties or investigative pool... in which case it's two less cops and one less car catching burglars/rapists/murderers/real criminals.

    I hope it's Option 1.

Nah..some dopey coppers did some stupid shit at a crossing with an oncoming train. Their punishment... looking for other dumb shits doing what they did... (to appease the train bosses and get them of the coppers bosses backs...and avoid the media spin perhaps?
