    BRONZ Taranaki Inc EASTER RUN

A good turnout in uncertain conditions for the 2006 run starting at the Ngamotu beach carpark & meandering around local backroads towards the Cape Egmont Boat Club where all who found their way (or kept the rider in front of themselves within sight) enjoyed a BBQ put on by the organisers. It was rumoured a 1200 Bandit owner who was lost, had the misfortune to puncture & ungracefully dismount. Several KBers were on the ride including Pritch008, Dhunt & Patrick to name a few.

Sadly not a rumour about the off... I was in the lost group of 6 with him. He is OK and bike "looked" fine but will need some twink...

Good pics but wheres my bike???

Tried to keep group in front in view, but after giving way at a give way sign, as you do, the lead bunch were 400 plus meters ahead on the highway, went out of sight around the next bend, then went immediately hard left down a side road, out of sight from our bunch. NO ONE waited to point us in the right direction. As it was a "mystery ride" who was to know...

But it turned out to be a good day out. Shame the possibly dodgey weather put others off...

I got pics of most bikes there - I'll do you a cd of them all - get in touch over easter.
Every corner the lead group went around they waited aprox 1 minute for others to catch up & the pace was only moderate. I thought with the No of yellow jackets they would have spread thru the group & lost riders would wait till one of them caught them to follow.

No need but thanks though...nice pics, wifeys pleased her Triumph is there...

Get a better watch... 1 minute? Ppppfffttt. We were one straight behind from Omata up to Hurford Rd (the one the group "disappeared" down?) and just when we thought me may get a glimpse of the group ahead, lost my tank bag in the heavy winds just before Oakura.

Passed two yellow jackets and the BRONZ van and trailer at Butlers Bar in Oakura so assumed I was on the right track and caught up to the other lost breed in Okato who were waiting for me... Saw another one of the riders (the red Harley) visiting in Okato. Still on right track? Must be!

It was a yellow jacket (one of the ones from Butlers) that finally caught up to us at Opunake who took us back to the mystery destination.

Ah well.... a good ride all the same, even in the rain... (except for the Bandit off, of course...).
