Skys look good from up here, Metservice now says showers are likely however I'm going to ignore that and gamble on the fact 90% of the time they are full of shit.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had a good day, I sure did. Despite the rain and change of plans I don't believe we lost anyone.

No serious incidents and it was good to see most people keeping to their own pace.

I'm a bit annoyed with the rain as the roads only get decent after Wellsford, but the group pace was good and no one I saw was being stupid.

Thanks to T.I.E for helping out and tamming yourself and a thanks to Crashe as well, not only for stopping with me while I introduced myself to the very nice olice: but for helping out with TEC too.

Bloody good turn out, I had maps drawn up but in the end thought that it would be more effective to keep to the simple "no one at the intersection, wait for TEC". Seemed to work pretty well.

There will have to be a next time and hopefully no rain, more people to help direct would be sweet too.

Thanks to everyone for turning up.

    Cool

Cheers T.I.E and Swanny for those kind words.

So Swanny expect a few PM's to remind you of what YOU have to do next week... so best you do the you know what.

I had a great ride today. I did do a couple of silly things cos I wasn't concentrating, so I told myself off.
But by the time I had reached Mangawhai my left leg was aching heaps.... so headed back down to wellsford and grabbed a quick feed and caught up with a mate at warkworth... which helped me as I was able to rest up the leg a bit. I finally got home at about 5pm and now have a ice pack on my knee...

Lots of new faces there today, but also great to catch up with those that I have meet before...

Yep I was the only one who ventured out there on their cruiser today...

Oh and WHAT RAIN.... ? I never saw a drop of it...

    Thanks Swanny! Good stuff.

Shame we have to turn back cause of the rain, but still good. Don't mind having that map you've drawn up

Sorry I couldn't come along, had my younger brother's 21st last night, and clean up was today. Just reading about the ride, and I want to hear the news.

What happened with the feds? Who/how sideswiped a car?

There weren't feds, they were cops - or pigs as they're known around here by those who fought the law and lost.

The side swipe hmm....... I'll let the chap explain himself.

Hey you coming on a ride sometime? I need some lessons.

we left Mangawhai and headed in land to langs, got about 2 ks into it. stopped the group at the top of the hill, knowing the twisties that lay ahead and the bad weather too, it was not a good mix. just as we turned about it just poured. i rode about 1k and was soaked.
thankfully we dried off before the kaukapakapa cafe/pub.

Big thanks to Swanny for organising the ride, was a good few hours in the saddle. It was good to finally meet some fellow KBers. Awesome roads and some good action to go with it. See you all on the next one
