    ZXR 250 Cam Chain

Anyone here ever had there cam chain re-tensioned or re-placed?
If so how much is it?
And is it terribly hard to do?
    Cheers

Use the search button up the top, heaps and heaps of crap about it, search zxr cam chain hopefully it will work or use google advanced search (on google.co.nz) it will come up in there. Up to 500 bucks or so to get done, get your valve shims/clearances done at teh same time.

you wont ever retension it, it has an 'automatic' tensioner which tends to get clogged or worn out, to replace the tensioner is about $200. To replace the cam chain which only needs to be done once (somewhere between 40-50,000km) is $100ish + labour. Like N4CR said, do the valve clearances and shims at the same time, you wont regret it.

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
