Anyone seen any sportsbike saddle bags? I'm thinking smaller than your average, more streamlined bags for a few days clothes... Anyone in Chch stock something like that?

I've just bought some Motoline panniers, they are 34L fully expanded and are fairly small and streamlined when non-expanded. They look quite compact on my little wee bike, so you'd probably hardly notice them on a real sportsbike.Originally Posted by imdying
there are the super-cool (probably expensive) Oxford HumpBack Panniers (approx $319) 45L
Those are pretty streamlined and fancy looking...

Semi-rigid (the panniers that is).

Have you thought of trying a pack rack or tank bag? Saddlebags and panniers are the domain of Beemer and Goldwing riders. Sportbikes don't 'do' panniers...
Pack racks are the ugliest things I've ever seen, and I'd sooner stab my eyes out before attaching one to my bike. A set of sleek panneirs with a similar side profile to my bike would be great (in matching black of course). Definitely looking for a tank bag too. Something small, mostly for drinks, wets, keys, wallets, camera etc.
Mine have a dark olive green stripe across the outer pocket, so may not be what you are after.
There were also some nice looking plain black Givi panniers at the shop when I bought mine. But they were way outside my price range, so I didn't even try them on the bike.
White Trash sold us our throwover panniers about three years ago when he was at WMC. Dunno what "brand" they are, but they're bloody brilliant. They have a waterproof liner on the inside -- how clever is that? Expandable and durable.
Don't buy those new ones that Ventura are making. They look shite and impractical -- designed by somebody who has never gone touring on a motorcycle. Mind you, the same could be said for other Ventura luggage and those under-engineered rust-prone racks they make.

They're a damn sight less ugly than panniers & saddlebags...
Get your friendly local bike shop to get some Oxford humpbacks in, you'll be impressed.
Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
Ummmm, noooo. I've got a bike with a smooth point rear end... the last thing I want is ugly piece of crap steel tube frame bolted on anywhere near it. They're feckin ugly, and are a damn sight worse than some sports bike stylised pannier bags (I've seen some neat ones). I'm talking GSXR, CBR, SV styled sports bike rear ends here, not your Dads FJ1200.Originally Posted by Drunken Monkey
Have to find somewhere with these humpbacks and have a perv, hopefully my local dealer will have some
Here's a pic of the sort of thing I want, note the swept up shape of the pannier bags
Please note the total gheyness of the pack rack even on the relatively squared off (compared to the SV) rear end of this duke.
That middle pic is a 'Dowco' brand... that's exactly what I want... now to find a NZ stockist.
I recently got myself a cheap Oxford tank bag and I'm really happy with it. They do panniers as well, the HumpBack ones have already been mentioned, they're listed as $319 in the Road Guide 06 catalogue. But they also make cheaper panniers that might do the trick for $119:Originally Posted by imdying
