We were looking at a 97 Quota on Sunday, strangely enough.
But I think the guy that was sitting on it bought it before I could, thank god.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

well you look after them ladies intense, it can be very dangerous shit that ride I have had a mate killed on the way there (near chertsie on a RG50) and thats no were near were it can get tricky, nother mate lost a leg (pig rout on a VFR1000) head on with another bike and a mate also lost his side car on a bridge in the ice... so good luck to you all and enjoy.

paturoa You should look at asking Spankme for the KB flag, tis a bloody big place the Brass.
    cheers DD

The big thing is you never can take it all for granted. Two years ago there was snow on the pass, and the number of people that went down.... well I lost count, at least it was all at a slow pace given there was snow falling and coating the road. I think the most lost might have been ego's and a bit of money in spare parts.

Yeah same, but that might just be good luck... I wasn't meaning to sound like a sorry arse, just figger as those girls just got there licences, that the Brass can be a mish, even for the experanced.

make sure you take it REAL easy then. The Brass is not an ideal starter for those inexperienced in riding a bike... it can be difficult for those who know it all as well. Just have lots of breaks and make sure everyone is happy ...and WARM!

Hmmm.... it sounds good. I'm dropping off a mates GF in Palmerston and will be "free" the rest of the weekend. I'll defo keep an eye out.

By the sounds of all the doom and gloom about binning mentioned above, I think I'll leave my bike cosmetically challenged until after the brass.

Is that to be in keeping with your own 'cosmetically challenged' appearance?

Have a safe trip, go s-l-o-w if there's signs of ice around, watch ahead to see what others are doing, if they're falling off? - then don't!!

I've been on ice and snow on my bike before... on hills as well. Interesting to say the least. Definitely be taking it easy - esp that last turn off where they had about an inch of gravel all over it last year.

I'm riding from home and over to Dunedin on Friday so hopefully it'll be clear but I'm more concerned about the check points on the way out of the site on Sunday!
What's the inside word SD - are they going to be there again this year?
From what I hear they won't have paid their way in the last couple.

I've not heard a THING but as a guess there'll be a token showing.

Got stopped at Omakau last year but never worries me as I don't drink!!
