Actually saw the 1st bikes heading south on Weds & Thurs, but today since 8ish there's been a reasonably steady flow of bikes burbling past Chertsey heading south so there should be a good attendance tomorrow will be busy for sure.

G'day woodybee welcome to KB & keep an eye peeled for the KB flag & the misfits hanging around it at the rally :slap:

This is probably the most interesting Queens birthday week end I can remember.
I really enjoy all the bikes around over this W/E but watching all the planning and progress on KB has made this one the best yet and it's only just starting!
Temp was still only -5 C this morning but hoar frost is tumbling down over the hills from the direction of Twizel.(across Lake Benmore)
Could be cold crossing Black Forrest road in the mornings.
You are doing well so far TIE, you are the flag bearer after all!
I rode down to Oamaru with IDB yesterday Jantar and he thought it was colder on your side of the Lindis! Cheers John.

Well it feels bloody cold here today. It did get to -5 overnight, but had warmed to -2 by 8:00 am. Its just above freezing outside at the moment, but the low cloud isn't letting the sun through, so it feels colder.

Latest weather update. Still looking like mild temperastures on Saturday, but a possible overcast sky could see temperature staying in single figures. It still looks like a light rain could come through during the night, but should clear mid morning. A cold front with snow on the tops will come through late sunday, so North Islanders should head as far up the island as possible on Sunday. Snow could hit the desert road late monday.

Well, CB and I got to Blenhiem OK, just early enough to miss the truck smash.
Had a quiet night in Amberley, had tea with Huntaway, very enjoyable..

Saw a few bikes heading south including a couple who waved like loonies - I guess they recognised the F100 from somewhere???

Mild night here - no rain and about 12 degrees.

Used about $190 worth of fuel so far.

Went to Brass monkey today for a day ride, met a lot of KBr's on the way and over there.
Mrs O/rider and I were very impressed, lots of nice people on here.
The weather was very nice and apart from cow shit everywhere the roads were in great condition.
Seemed to be quite a big crowd and very pleasant mood this year but forecast may just bring drama over the last couple of days!
I took some pics but always seem to have the camera out when people of interest to KB have moved on but there are some signs of them in some of the pics.
I will try to post some starting the day from home and leaving the rally to come home.
We went via Dansey Pass and came home via Lindis Pass, great day out. Cheers John.

Some more pics last one is when we left, looking back at the main entrance.
We left home at 09:30 got back at 18:45, had a really good day out, feel great. Hope pics are of some interest to some of you.
Note the big yellow flag on the fence, complements of Spankme and T.I.E! Cheers John.
PS: Pic one below is FT500 on his self promised pre 50 Rally. The dude in the "pink" tent is my son in law and the reluctant model in the pics is Mrs O/rider.

I do believe that Dangerous, Rashika and I may each lay claim to one of these.

Didya post this on the other thread? That was a great capture on video of that.
I thought it was a (peddled) mountain bike, that one looks driven, in the second shot. Thanks CcQ, I missed that on the day. Nice one.
