Hey got to take the oppertunity when it strikes

But for anyone travelling through to the Brass, I can't offer a hell of a lot of accomodation, a couple comfy & another couple roughing it a bit and covered parking for bikes.
But if theres any minor mechanical problems that need looking at, I've got a fairly well stocked workshop & also can arrange access to a shop in ashvagas if the worst eventuates.
and the rally site is less than 350km from here too

    southern hospitality

cool guys - we'll be in touch soon, I'm going to talk to TIE this weekend to sort some more details.

Went to Motomail on the way home today and got a 2 piece plastic over raincoat XXXL! It fits nicely over my bike jacket jacket and bike trou and will add to the warmth / comfort. It was only $45, looks a bit flimsy but will do the trick nicely.

Yeah get ya shit together man, you've only got 5 weeks to super polish the bike so the rain & dirt just slides straight off.

Lemans & I are shooting down there on our traillies! so I hope we get to meet the crew there.

i think i had better be booking me a ticket on a monday ferry now then. although a few more days down south could be a go.
my bike will be loaded. i was gonna offer to take something down for someone if needed.

i may be able to squeeze on a small tent if somone is having problems with gear. so offer is up there.

Talking My personal reccomendations of good espresso stops:

for what its worth im always pissed when i cant find kick ass coffee in an un familiar area, so.... for your culinary enjoyment: (sorry dont know much further north of chch)

    Amberly: Nor' Wester cafe
Chch: Tera Viva (near the airport)
    Ashburton: Lunch
Timaru: Le Monde (on the bay hill.... (wink wink)
For gods sake dont drink ANY coffee in Tekapo, it'll kill you
Twizel: Shawtys (if you goin that way)

hope this helps! beers not every ones choice after all..

I can't say I've tried all of the coffee places you recommend, but certainly Shawtys don't have any decent coffee. All they have is that machine made milk stuff like latte or flat white, or those tiny wee black coffees like short black which is only a thimble full or long black which is in a tea cup size. There are still places where you can get a decent mug of coffee though, large, rich, and just a small dash of milk. Usually its those ones that have filter coffee, and there are still some places that will bring a plunger of coffee to the table.
    Time to ride
