Phew! thats a relief - you had me convinced he was going to do a runner. He seems like such an honest person.

I think that they caught one bloke last year and none the year before, and I have only heard of prangs on the way to the rally in years past. I didn't realise that there had ever been an issue with folk leaving.

See, it works - stops drink-drivers (riders?) being on the road!!!

Icey, well any shady spots in the am realy, but as far as slipery goes ya 1st caution point will be (apart from the Blenhiem drivers) the Kaikour coast if its wet... the rd along the sea side can be very slipery when wet and theres a few corners that can catch ya out, however it is one awesome piece a rd, mind the coppers tho.

Hey either of you guys asked Spank for the KB flag?

    KB flag

i have been given the ok to take the flag along.
    yes the KB FLAG
    spank is the man.
but however it will be treated well as its on loan.
the stand is one of those ones that goes under a vechile wheel. i can imagine like a realestate one. i can courier it down or pack it up.
but wondering are there vechiles allowed? does anyone have a car, and a tyre to park it under?
or else ill check it out and find other ways to mount it.
but speak up as i only have a few days to sort it out any ideas?

PS i'm thinking it will need to be looked after rather well, thinking of vandalism and also theft so it wil come down at night. just to be on the safe side.

Just a worthy note for Ice, when leaving ChCh on the Saturday morning, depending on the weather a couple of places that can be iced up are the Dunsandel Bend over the railway particularly on the sth side of the rail crossing.
And also the Rakaia bridges can ice up too. And then Chertsey along past the Domain/Trotting track (this can be the preverbial skating rink!).

Be aware if it's a cold clear morning these spots will stay iced till at least mid-morning.

Well... since I last went I believe theres a dear fence up and no cars, how about ya string the flag up between two bikes?
