Have been planning on heading away from home around the 9 - 9.30 area. The blokes form Ashvagas haven't finalised a time as of yet, but their on the fast trip mode anyhow so that isn't really my preference for heading down to the Brass. Plus i may be two-up anyhow (mate is acting like an old woman & can't make his mind up).Originally Posted by Smokin
But if there's a link-up happening at Rakaia that would work better (I'm only 5mins further down the road).
Seems like there will be a few of you guy's and gal's staying at Kurow on Friday night, presumably at the motor camp.
All things being equal, I might just take a ride down there (27km) and say g'day if there is anyone about.
I usually go to the Brass for a day trip but never make up my mind about when/how/what until the last minute.
So many people, the weather so changeable, who knows, I just wing it.
Hope you all enjoy yourselves and have a good trip.Cheers John.
Yeah we will be in cruise mode too 110-120ks, would be cool to hook up if we can do it.Originally Posted by T.W.R
Just finished work on getting the bike ready, changed oil, more glycol, checked stuff etc and was about to check and oil the chain when I noticed what looked to be a rust patch on one of the rollers.
Well upon closer inspection (can't see too well up close now-a-days) the reason it was rusty was that the chrome finish on a whole bunch of the rollers is worn thru to steel. I then poked around a little and its all as loose a goose. The sprockets are fine and there is no point in shagging those with a 4000k round trip so its a new chain this week.
I've got a merry old pile of stuff growing in the corner to pack too.
Yeah I'll be keen to meet up as well.Originally Posted by T.W.R

Well when a time is finalised for departing ChCh that will be good, it's roughly 20mins to Rakaia from Rolleston.
By the Mobil servo is probably the easiest place to meet, it's easy to spot (halfway through the town on the main drag, would say just past the salmon but it's away getting a $120k restoration).
Just finalisng that now - trying to talk FlyingDutchMan into an ealier start than the 9am at rolly he has suggested.Originally Posted by T.W.R
Yep, Kurow motor Camp it is. It'll be good to see you again. You might want to do Danseys with us on Saturday perhaps.Originally Posted by oldrider

Anybody heading down from Ch-ch on Thursday?
I'll be on the road in me 'lorry' between Dunedin and Amberley (or somewhere like that) from 10am to 4pm.
If you want to know what the lorry looks like see post #158 on this thread.
Friday morning it's on the road again to Blenhiem so keep a look out eh?

Looking forward to seeing you again too fa queue but like I said, I make up my mind at the last minute, usually waiting to see what my son in law is going to "actually" do, before "I" decide.Originally Posted by far queue
The "Cat" belonged to a young girl about five doors away and she packed a shitty because he was coming down here!
I think she took it away to Timaru or somewhere, shame because he conned me into letting him in while Mrs O/r wasn't looking but then he got cocky and tried coming in when she was home, not a good idea! I knew nothing of course.Cheers John.
What time do you guys think that you will be at Kurow motor camp?
If we are going pass at about that time we will drop in to see you guys.
Or may wait around a bit at the pub to see you before we head on to the place where we are spending the night.
Feel the fear and do it anyway
Don't confuse education with intelligence.
There are alot of highly educated idiots out there.
Flocker and I expect to be there around 4pm, depending on conditions on the day. I'll txt you with updates and an ETA on the way down.Originally Posted by lemans
