    FOR SALE: F650 well used, needs some work

    ** I will be putting it on trade me at the end of the week so if you are thinking about it then please hurry up :-) **

    Touring or commuting. I've had this bike for just over 100,000 Awsome kms. It has been serviced pretty much on time every time. And kept garaged 100% of its life (when not being ridden).

    Comes with WOF (until august) and Reg(10 months(ish)), Turatech bash plate, Wunderlich engine bars, GPS mount, Heated grips, High windsheild, Baglux tank bag & tank protector, accessory socket & lighter socket, Hagon rear shock, Radiator guard, spare radiator (complete with small hole), BMW manual & owners books and where various original bits that have been removed to make way for aftermarket stuff. (does not come with the sheepskin).

    General signs of use some scratches in the plastic from low speed tumbles off road and the seat really needs re-covering.

    Reason I am selling is that It has almost lost 2nd gear and have been offered a loan for a new bike but not repairs. I have found out that the 2nd gear shifting fork wear is a common problem. Another issue is that it needs a fix on the sump plug, again not a major with the engine out. Full instructions & piccies for the repair are avalible on the site www.f650.com

    I have found out that all the required parts are ex germany. I have friends in germany getting prices for the bits at the moment. I can arrange for these to be sent over the buyer at cost price if required.

    I wouldn't get too worried about the parts - I did 113,000K on my first F650; in that distance the few parts it needed generally cost the same as, or less than, most Japanese equivalents. BMW generally get parts in quicker than those who only come half the distance, too.

    Yeh, the parts should not be a problem, Still, I usually import my own if they are coming from germany or I am not in a hurry. Only because I have some very good contacts over there who know their bikes :-)

    The labour versus my expertise versus time is the real problem here

    Lever - 23 00 2 343 515 ($27 NZD)

    From Germany
    Shifting fork 2nd gear 42.72€ + gst at ?%
    Lever 6.39€ + gst at ?%
    + Shipping, should not be too much for these little bits.

    So if you have the time & expertise to do the job you will have a real bargain on your hands.

    The bike is still rideable, it just pops out of second if you give it too much throttle. The gears sound sweet, including 2nd.

    Looked at piccie again, The affore mentioned smoking jacket has been on there so long I forgot to mention it.

    It is not really a smoking jacket, in fact it is a tank bag thingie. The tank bag also comes with the bike. will add it to the list.

    Urr... its an aluminium chain guard was having problems with the scotoiler throwing oil everywhere with the original guard. Have all the original guard in a box.
