Nice to meat you... (Risky Russ)

So yeah... Here's me. (chapter of my bible)

I went to one of the "newbie" rides on wednesday a couple of weeks ago and had a blast so thought I'd sign up.

I currently ride an '87 FZR 250. Done quite a few K's, but stil seems to go alright. I wont tell ya too much about it or I'll never be able to sell it on this site... jk

It's my second bike and (when running properly) I love her to bits..... Yes she's been for a skid..... thankfully nothing as bad as my first bike....

My first bike?..... was a 89GSXR250r and after three months I had bought a nice jacket and helmet (the ones that came with the bike were more than a little second hand) and was really getting into the zone for leaning as far as poss and burning a tank of gas in a day cos I just didn't want to stop.

so heading up the road home after work (and having just filled up the tank for a long ride once I'd been home and changed) me and my steed have an altercation with some dude and his wagon and his trailor...

He was turning across my path into a side street and must've forgotten til the last second that he was towing a trailor. He tried to race through, and then tried to stop, then I crashed into him.... actually just the trailor. forward somersault 2cm left of mid spine to corner of trailor... winded... new scratch on new jacket.... bike written off..... STINK!

luckily nothing broken (like my back) and no wheelchair time... all good. So had a bit of time off while I was repairing and regaining mobility. and got the FZR. STOKED! Thinking back on the GSXR my FZR eats it...

The FZR made me such a winner that I won lots of points. I got a high score of 165 and won the grand prize of walking for 3 months.

I finished my walk and I'm trying to behave myself. I set a new years resolution for my self of no tickets for 5years.... not proving easy. I got pulled up on thursday evening/ friday morning. cop reckons i was doing 120.. my needle didn't break 105. cop didn't have a reading on the meter, had to let me go with a warning.... fkn GRR... I think I'm a magnet.....

If anyone knows of a place to get my speedo calibrated I'd be keen to know.

But yeah.. thats me and here I am. looking forward to reading from / riding with some / most of you. !

    Russ

Hey Russ, a local!! Another from the land of the clouds. Welcome. If you need a hand and I can help I will (just up on the hill)

Careful not to feed the locals after midnight...

    Poos ya forgot *farts*
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
