When was the last time you flew a kite?
This is being organised by my flatmate and she asked me to let people know.
BIG KIDS KITE DAY – SUNDAY 14TH MAY 2006
Making memories that last a lifetime
This day is for “BIG KIDS” of all ages. Come along with your family and friends, watch the magnificent kites, fly your own, have a picnic! It’s also a day to help fundraise for Mercy Hospice Auckland (formally known as St Joseph’s Mercy Hospice), in their annual appeal in which they need to raise 1.7 million.
10am – 3pm, Sunday 14th May 2006 *
Bastion Point, Mission Bay, Auckland
You can help make this day possible.
We’re asking for volunteers and sponsors to help out on the day with:
to help collect donations
to keep an eye on the little “big kids”
to organise a sausage sizzle
supply refreshments
fly kites
promoting the day (tell your friends!) and making it possible.
We’ve already got support from the NZ Kitefliers Association, with members keen to come along with many colourful kites, including “Grizz” who is a massive 12 metre inflatable bear!
KiteWorks kite shop will be there flying their Tetrahedral kite, a magnificent kite originally designed by telephone inventor Alexander Bell!
Speed limits are just a suggestion, like pants.
