Keen to hook up and head down Zapf. Ham East McD's is right in town but we can sort out where to meet you guys out of Hamilton or something. PM me and we'll sort something.

Maungatautari Rd runs down the western side of Lake Karapiro and then hooks up with the Kihikihi Whakamaru Rd. Take that down to Whakamaru, turn off there and head for Taupo.

The majority is excellent secondary highway. There is a small 3km section on Maungatautari Rd that doesn't have a centre line as it's a bit narrow, but otherwise it's far faster than going down SH1 or any of the other main routes.

Weather should be clearing tomorrow so unless it's absolutely pissing down it's a go!!

Leaving 9:00am on the dot so don't be late or you'll be playing catch up.

Cheers to Devil / MacD and Trev from Auckland who turned up.... sorry for being late to my meeting place but we all got there on time :P

It was misty and foggy in Auckland as we left... could probly only see all of 100m in front, but once past Bombays it all cleared up and it was a good ride to and back from Taupo...

Tis was a long day but I am sure we all enjoyed the great roads. Thanks again for keeping me company

For the record JSG didn't turn up cause he missed his alarm.... mate... make an effort next time will u?

Sorry for being a total bastige.

I hate myself for being such a wretched, lazy moron.

Could have made an effort to catch you guys but I'm already sitting on 10 too many points. Gonna hand the plastic in after the KB trackday. Luckily I can legally do so too .

Hope you guys had a good day. How was the track?? Any pics??

Thanks for the coffee John. It went down well.

By the time we left there was only me and Teflon, so we headed the back way to Whakamaru then up to Kihikihi and through Templeview. Not quite as interesting as the way down but it's easier to ride at the end of the day.
